My daughter is getting married in Prague in a few weeks, and there will still be some costs to be paid - around $8,000 U.S.
The venue will give me a discount if I pay cash - around 15%.
I just stopped by my local bank (Chase) and their fee was around 10.4%.
And I am not thrilled with the idea of walking around with that much cash.
Does anyone have experience with cash transactions internationally?

My wife looked into this a while back and atm fees ended up being the best conversion rate she could find. It's a logistical nightmare if you have limits of several hundred bucks/day but I'm pretty sure it's cheaper than taking cash and swapping it there.

Does the venue want Kourna? Ask them if they accept dollars. Was in Prague in June, uber driver rather dollars than a credit card.

Like Art said, for normal travel, getting a debit card with no foreign transaction fees and using an ATM is by far the best option for cash.
But that’s a lot of cash.
This may roll snake eyes, but my first thought is to call the hotel I’m staying at and tell them the situation (the wedding venue wanting cash, not that you get a discount). Ask if they would let you swipe a (no foreign transaction fee) card (and pay a reasonable swipe fee) for them to provide you with the cash you need. If you’re polite enough and give them enough notice, they might surprise you with their willingness to accommodate. Far less money, but with zero notice, I got something like $750 worth of MXN at a resort in Cabo a few years ago when I noticed the ATM had a max transaction limit below what I needed.
Eta: Obviously this gets defenestrated if the hotel is the venue
