Best cash flow planning app?

Is there an app out there where I can load income amount/timing, bill amounts/timing, and get a daily snapshot that tells me (or really, my wife) how much of our checking balance is really available to spend rather than committed to bills that will be paid in the future.
Rough example - I have $1000 in checking, but $900 mortgage is due before I get paid again. I want an app to be able to link to my checking account to tell me (or really, my wife) that there is only $100 available to spend before risking overdraft fees.
Any suggestions are appreciated. I found one called "Even" that supposedly does this, but they are unable to connect to my bank account at Wells Fargo for some reason.

An Excel sheet is the only one I know of that provides that kind of forecasting ability.

That's what I was going to suggest but I think he wants it linked automatically to his accounts.

I have an Excel model that accomplishes what I want, but yes - live updating would be ideal. Plus it isn't accessible on the fly. Trying to get my wife to take ownership in this budget process

Personally, I would try to build a checking account large enough to where cash flowing standard monthly payments isn't a concern. The 2% return on the amount you move into savings is de minimis.

I can easily keep more in checking, but this is an effort to fix some spending habits on little things here or there.
If the tool I'm looking for doesn't exist, it's not the end of the world.

Are you using credit cards? Those sync easily within an app like Mint to manage spending in individual categories.
In short, I don’t know of an app that does what you want specifically. Good luck

Microsoft Money used to do back in the day. It's a neat feature.
I believe Quicken does it.
I would like to have it myself as it's nice to use if you ever notice some amount that you can sweep to investments that might build up over time. Just another tool to make it easier to identify.

I use an excel spreadsheet. It works for me since I have a few streams of supplemental income. It's just not easily accessible since I keep it on my computer at the office.

As stated an excel could help, I also utilize Personal Capital for getting visual representation of my finances.

Excel is the answer for simplicity and cost. Having someone set you up a macro to just drop data in one tab and then summarize your data on another page or two without having to do manipulation would be ideal.

Why not just give her an allowance or use a separate account or something?

Thanks everyone. As I mentioned earlier, I already created an Excel model that does exactly what I need. It isn’t accessible on the go and does not update automatically based on the current balance. The fact that I can make one so easily makes it surprising that an app doesn’t exist to do the same thing, but I can find other ways to handle the issue. I was trying to avoid opening a new account but it’s looking like the simplest option now.

You can’t use google drive or google docs to access the spreadsheet on the go?

I definitely could. Now if you can suggest a way to link that google sheet to show up to date checking balances, my problem would be solved.
