quote:No that isn’t the reason for the lawsuit at all.
quote:They can still pay a buyers agent. Can, but will they? The entire reason of the lawsuit is because people wanted to stop paying it. The onus will eventually fall on the buyer.
Sellers will continue to be paying buyer agent commissions and it will be structured in the contracts. I’ve been doing that for months and had exactly ONE seller who refused to pay me a buyers fee (buyer did), seller was a FSBO. Given there were issues (from the seller’s end) my client was very happy to pay me for my work, as I saved them thousands.
Why btw will sellers be continuing to pay? Because as of right now loans really don’t have a mechanism to pay costs buyers incur as part of the purchase. And buyers need help with the biggest purchase if their lives. Either they have to come up with MORE out of pocket costs, or they play Russian roulette.
Lots of people think it’s easy to do my job, till they actually try to. There’s a reason the failure rate for agents is so high.
