Any recommended utility stocks or ETFs?

I think over a 5-10 year horizon utilities should be a booming sector. The fastest growing sectors in the tech realm require a lot of power and there seems to be some federal money pushing a lot of these things so they're inevitable to some degree. I'm not seeing any ten bagger type results in this market but it could perhaps be a safe bet.

Im in URA for the long haul. I think uranium and nuclear power will be the way of the future in the next 10-20 years.
Already seeing ESG initiatives get walked back, and nuclear is one of the most efficient was to generate a frick ton of power.
Perhaps I’m wrong but time will tell.

Yeah, I have been hearing this for more than a few years but not holding my breath. I bought a very large chunk of VPU in 2008 in a taxable brokerage at $58.xx and still hold it, VPU did have a pretty strong return this year but it is unlikely utilities are going to light up the market and you would likely make much more in growth or S&P 500 over 5 - 10 years. Also have held DUK and SO for a long time. I either reinvest the dividends in something other than utilities or spend the cash. Non-related but in comparison when OKE bought out my large EPD holdings in September 2023 it is up over 52% YTD 2024. There is a saying that utilities are for widows/orphans/retirees due to stability of dividends, not growth.

I started buying VPU in October. They say you can’t time the market, but man it always seems to time me.
