How much do you save per month?
Trying to see if I am in the norm.

I send $57.70 a week into a Savings account and $21.70 bi-monthly into an account for my each of my 2 kids. So $317.60 is automatic. Factor in another couple of hundred that I dont use each month and I probably save around $500/month.
That does not include $200 bi-monthly which goes into my 401K and we pay additional on our house monthly.

I'm between the 1-2 thousand dollar mark right now, but want to build a new home. Will have higher mortgage and higher utilities with the new house, so I just want to make sure I'm not putting myself into a bad situation. Thanks for your responses.

My benchmark is half of one paycheck a month. Sometimes I save more, sometimes less, but it gives me a nice little rainy day fund.

Average about 2k a month but I don't to.it steady. I should. April I only put aside 1k. May I put 5k. I'm think about direct pulls into savings like some people on here are doing. That way I never even see the money.

That's what I do. At least 1K every two weeks straight to savings.

I have probably $1600 extra after EVERY bill/automatic savings is taken out each month.
This $1600 has to cover food+gas+anything extra. So it's probably closer to $1000 extra money laying around each month.
