Ronald Gerald Wayne is an American retired electronics industry worker. He co-founded Apple Computer with Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, providing administrative oversight for the new venture. However, he soon sold his share of the new company back to Jobs and Wozniak for $800 US dollars, and later accepted $1,500 to forfeit any claims against Apple (in total, equivalent to $9,498 in 2017). As of March 2018, if Wayne had kept his 10% stake in Apple Inc., it would have been worth over $84 billion

Ron Wayne once said, "When you're at a focal point of history, you don't realize you're at a focal point of history."

Think about that period of time...we had been in a nearly 3 year long recession with stagflation; high interest rates, high unemployment. Everyone was fearful of the markets and of the future.

I've always wondered how many nights he spent curled up with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a loaded .44 by his side. But since he didn't off himself or go insane, I guess that speaks to the strength of his character. Best not to think of what might have been. I guess we can all take a lesson from that.

On the other side of this story, I had a friend whose grandmother had gifted him $250 in Apple Stock every birthday + Christmas because she heard about it in "Forrest Gump"

Let's just say my buddy has never had to worry about finances

Anyone remember the 4th member of Mark Zuckerberg's dorm suite at Harvard - Zuck is worth $70 billion, Eduardo Savarin $9 billion, and Dustin Moskovitz.

The 4th roommate never got a penny.

@15yrs ago I could've bought apple for @$15 a share too.

Had 1000 shares of Mc'D for @19/sh, then sold it when they had the mad cow scare.
