“The Sugar Bowl” wants a $50 deposit?

I received a call today from a 504 area code saying I inquired about Sugar Bowl tickets online. I don’t know if I did or not.
He said he was from “The Sugar Bowl” and they are taking $50 deposits now and will have option to purchase seats later.
Is this how this works?
Seems sketchy. I told him not now, but if I want to later how do I get in touch with him. He said just call back at the same number on caller ID.

Yes, it's legit. They've been e-mailing and calling those on their mailing list that don't already have Sugar Bowl season tickets.
