You people are fuc**** retarded. I had questions about Les Miles when he first arrived. Not anymore. The guy is a great coach. I don't care how good a level of talent he inherited, because he did the job he was supposed to. I didn't think Matt Flynn was a NCAA Championship material QB, but look what Miles did with him. I can name plenty coaches who have talent but cannot win (COUGH CLEMSON-BOWDEN). So to question his coaching abilities is absurd. He will correct the defensive situation in the appropriate time.

Ummm... The fact is that you can't compare the two circumstances like that.

Why???? Because you said so?

Being the first 2 loss championship team is not something to brag about. We can claim we are champions, fine, but don't go claiming we did something amazing by being the first 2-loss MNC.

All that says to me, is that there were several great teams last year and LSU was the best of them.

Less than last year. The DC move was a bust. He can recruit but IMHO he needs good coordinators, esoecially on defense to be sucessful. The only thing that's scary, we lost 2 games last year with all the talent we had. We could have lost 2 or 3 more. We could easily lose 4 games this year. If he can finish 9-3 and hire a decent DC for next year I'll feel alot better.

Where are you getting that 163? That was what they had in the first half for goodness sake.

This is how out of touch with things Bandwagonners like GeauxBob really are. He had no frickin clue how many yards Tulane put on LSU's Defense..completely clueless.
Geaux Bob and his minions are part of the clueless "LSU sucks brigade" that has infiltrated this board over the past few weeks.

GeauxBob,

Can you please explain to me what you expect Les to hire as far as defensive position coaches?

95% of all D-coordinators also coach a position.

On Defense you have....1. D-line 2. LB's 3. DB's

On Offense you have....1. O-line 2. TE's 3. WR's 4.RB's 5. QB's

The TE's coach is the recruiting coordinator, the D-coordinators both coach positions, and the O-coordinator coaches QB's.

What the frick do you want? Have you ever played football? Have you ever coached football? Can you spell FOOTBALL?

Very High! He's the caliber of person I'd want my son to play for. And by the recruiting stats, the same can be said by many of the parents of top notch recruits in the region.

Beyond that, he's just a damned good coach. He's not on the level of Rockne, Schemblecher, Hayes, Paterno, Saban, or Bryant... yet. (And, he may not get there). But, he's brought home the crystal and is dedicate to the program and the boys. Keep him.
