He's a pretty damn good offensive coordinator and very flexible. Very well regarded coach. Why should we not be excited?

Pretry much all LSU coaches are crucified at some point in their careers here. Some more deservedly than others.

Sounds eminently practical to me, especially given his boss's past record.

And OP, while there is genuine and real reason to be very excited with this hire, I'd be willing to bet that the level of excitement is also a reaction (whether conscious or sub-conscious) to the absolute flood of negative asswipes declaring in unison how Coach O is no doubt going to ruin LSU football. Not even wanting to give the man a chance. Sickening! I've never been this disgusted by a segment of LSU fans, and there has been a lot of outcry for various reasons over the years.
