i think we need to go pro-style, but recruiting pro-style QBs is a tough cookie, esp being in a state that rarely produces good ones
I don't know why we couldn't land good QB's to fit this role from the Southern region, especially Texas. Missouri and Alabama are two examples of BCS schools with recent or current quality QB's from the solid LSU recruiting territory near Houston. We had a shot at Mccoy and JL is from Texas.

i doubt rivers is as good as a sophomore as JJ was, assuming rivers has a shite OL and no running gam
why would you assume that?

LSU should always have 4 scholarship QB's on roster - RP got the boot, Lee went to MLB.
Every year LSU should sign a QB, now if you get a 4/5 star one year, you get a 3 star the next year, etc.
Or you can sign 2 one year (play one and redshirt the other) and 0 the next year or keep it at 1 a year.
LSU has dropped the ball in recruiting this position despite taking about 5 oline commitments that are no longer with the program.
MONEY

Andrew Luck is from Houston, as well.

JJ really wasn't that bad as a sophomore, with lots of negative going on around him
rivers is by most accounts also a project

could rivers' play as a sophomore be significantly worse than what we've seen from jefferson and lee the last 2 seasons?
i doubt rivers is as good as a sophomore as JJ was, assuming rivers has a shite OL and no running gam
the offensive line and running game is going to substantially get better over the next few years. why would you assume otherwise? also, why do you doubt that rivers<jefferson, especially given the likely possibility that crowton will probably not be at lsu 2 years from now?

So does FSU no longer play in the ACC?

I'm not all that worried about a young QB but a talented transfer or a Juco player would make things easier to groom a young QB.
Tate Forcier might be looking to transfer according to the rumors. Any chance LSU could get him if he does?

we're gunna go full option?
that's like going full retard. you never go full retard

Chase Daniel and Greg McElroy are from the Dallas area. And I thought McCoy was going to Texas regardless. Looking at McCoy's rivals profile, LSU wasn't even one of his potential schools. They were Texas, GT, Kansas State, Missouri, Purdue, and A&M. McCoy probably wasn't even on LSU's radar.

Sub. Russell Shepard in for JJ last week and call the exact same plays and I promise you RS does better. We run the perfect offense for him now.

Ponder is not that good. I watched that game. If someone doesn't develope his is right we will be in trouble. This is like when Dinardo was here. Herb Tyler was serviceable but couldn't beat a team with his arm.

Not putting yourself in a position to relive the past 2 years. For starters.
