I hate these threads. I went to school during that era. some of you all think we should just accept mediocrity. We had a great year, but a good bit of it was erased with that sorry excuse of a game plan monday night. Worse lost in LSU history imo.

I remember going to a game where someone threw a shoe at Hallman as he walked out for halftime. It was awesome! The security guards came up in the stands holding up the shoe.

First, I'm not a "genius", certainly not when it comes to football. Neither are 99.999% of the posters on this board, it would help the conversation if they realized that.
Second, I'm not making ANY excuses for the job of our coaching staff Monday night. It was as ugly as it gets and we got our arse kicked...no way to sugar coat it.
What I am saying is that in a 119 years of LSU football that this program is at the highest, most successful level it's ever been. We finished 13-1 with an SEC Championship, nothing to sneer at!
Have a little prospective. We didn't get beat by UAB or ULM, we got beat by Alabama. I'd love to beat them every time we play them, it's not REALISTIC to think it's going to happen.

This sums up the whole debacle! This was the chance that LSU has been anticipating for a decade. To show that the Tigers could compete with Bama on the biggest stage, when both are at their best, and LSU laid a big turd.
Make no mistake, this is about Bama. If this had been any other team, the sentiments would not be nearly as strong. Yea, so the Tigers will probably take care of them next season, La de fukin da. They are supposed to, this team was built for 2012, remember. It dosen't matter, Bama has already proven that WE cannot hang with them when it really matters.
Oh, and just so I can say I told you so, that other team that LSU fans love to hate, you know, from the left coast, will likeky be waiting for their chance at the end next season.
