they don't let jefferson throw down the field because he can't. he was 1 for 7 over 10 yards against north carolina. i wouldn't trust him to throw it down field either.

Say what you want about lee and the picks but atleadt with lee we were in the top 50 in total offense.

Again, the JJ-led offense averaged more points than the Lee-led offense when comparing their starts that year. JJ's averaged 34 in two games and Lee's averaged 28.5 in his starts. Our offense just averaged more then for whatever reason.

But we need to shake things up and get more production out of our passing game one way or another.

Lee had to go down with an ankle sprain before Les replaced him with JJ. I feel that playing out the same way here. obviously it must be something in practice that has the coaching staff scared to put lee and ford in the game.

The only thing worse than the first half play calling was JJ's execution. For the record Lee was not benched in '08. He was injured against OM. Had RP not necessitated his dismissal, JL would be starting as a RS JR. and JJ backing him up as a RS soph. Neither deserved the crappy breaks they were were dealt but it is what it is. Lee wasnt' benched in '08 because there was no one else capable of getting enough offense to keep up with the opposition thanks to Malleveto. Hatch didn't have the arm, and JJ was too green. Then Lee and Hatch both go down, you put JJ in the frying pan and Crowton has shown no ability to deal successfully with a young, learn-on-the-job type of QB. I don't care who plays but the hot hand needs to be in the game.

your math is a little fuzzy if you think jj has averaged 34 points in 2 games this season.

Playcalling wasn't as a big a problem as execution was on the qb's part...when qb can't execute, limits the plays that can be called...WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME THEN...

We're talking about the 2008 offense and the production then.

Well I think the only way for JJ to get better is to play him the entire game, but at the same time id really like to see a series with J Lee just to get a look but Shep has been practicing with the QBs all summer and i really think he'd do a better job than J Lee. Boone or Tolliver can play slot. The guy had one bad game this season, but we still managed to get the win..no need to crucify him yet...lets see how he rebounds against Miss St.

this is why you see so many options, and qb running plays, its really the only thing he can do with consistency.

you see that just goes in a circle. If you don't throw th ball down the field then options and qb running plays aren't going to work.

there is a big difference in "hitting you in the hands" vs. "getting a hand on the ball"

Dennis Dixon comparison? Haha! It is funny to hear JJ mentioned as a dual threat QB.

This is quite a reversal when Lee was throwing balls into triple coverage, high and behind receivers,,,,fans blamed receivers mainly d byrd for not making the catch,,,same thing happens with JJ and the passes have to be perfect for receivers to catch them,,,,,,what gives?

75% of JJ's problem was that his recievers dropped AT LEAST 5 passes.

What some are calling dropped passes were actually passes that were behind or too low for the receivers (or both) and the receiver tried to adjust to make the catch, got his hands on it, but couldn't make the catch. They were all on plays where we threw short and were depending on the receiver being able to catch in stride and run for more yardage, but the ball was consistently off target so the receivers would have to stop or reach back or reach too far down or all of the above and couldn't adjust soon enough. Even if they had made some of those catches, it wouldn't have mattered much because, having to stop and break stride, they would have had no chance for much yardage after the catch, so they would have been very short gains anyway.

JJ's accuracy is hidius! Enough with the stupid pick 6's already! That's the past , just think JJ passing should have at least improved. Miles would be stupid not to Let Lee take the qb spot for a bit and let's see what happens. Also all that running JJ is doing ,he won't last against better def.
