There are many people people writing about hypotetical changes in the NC game.....changes that LSU could/should have made. How about a hypothetical that does not involve LSU, but only involves Bama.

What if the 2011 regular season played out exactly like it did for LSU except Bama makes one of the four FGs they missed in regulation and they beat us 9-6.

We go on to finish the season exactly like we did, except we don't to the SEC Championship, so in this scenario you have the heart-breaking loss to Bama on the 5th, but we didn't win the West and we didn't win the SEC title.

We finish the season 11-1 and go to the Sugar Bowl where we defeat Michigan by 14 pts. and end the year 12-1.

I guess most would be second-guessing the play of the Tigers on Nov. 5th and would forever be thinking we were better than Bama, but we would have ended the season on a winning note.

I fricking promise you we would not have gotten a rematch. And if we had.....we would have beat their arses...like they beat us.

ESPN pre ordained them

We would have destroyed the likes of VaTech in the Sugar Bowl and Bama would have destroyed OSU in the NC...and we would have finished the season at #2.

Yes we would have. Before the game, most pundits said that LSU would have a much better chance of a rematch than Bama. Our schedule was much harder and we would have lost on the road. Most said Bama had little shot at a rematch, and they wouldn't have gotten one if several things didn't happen in their favor between November 5th and the final BCS poll.

There is no way we get a rematch. That is reason this whole thing is so hypocritical. Bama knows we'd never gotten it and they're laughing at us.

Makes me hate Bama football and Saban all the more.

They got a rematch because they didn't really take a hit in the polls after losing due to the Bama hype machine and the "Bama outgained LSU" bullshite.

If we would have lost, we'd have dropped lower in the polls.

IMO Bama deserved the rematch and got it. We would have deserved a rematch more but would not have gotten it.

No way you get a do over.. Saban wouldve come out and said you need to win the Conference Championship and earn the right to play in the BCS Championship. Bama fans would be saying we won, let it go... like they are now.

Lol ESPN didn't preordain anything 6 of the 8 people covering the game wore purple for Christ sake. On Nov 5th Bama didn't capitalize on any opportunities they were the better team and proved it in the Superdome. LSU is a LOT younger team with a VERY bad QB problem, but there is a ton of talent and I believe either Mett or Gunner will be a significant upgrade in that department. You have to understand how much senior leadership Bama had on their team, something that LSU lacked this year.

Bama was just a better team that got beat on the 5th. I'll also say the great thing about a plus 1 if that is the anwser or even an 8 team playoff is every year the SEC has to be a prohibitive favorite because we are the biggest and the hardest on the block. A playoff or plus 1 system would only prove that more. There wasn't any doubt this year that the top 3 teams were SEC West teams.

Your an idiot and a conspiracy theorist. Our SOS and wins stacked up far and away above anyone else. The computers alone would have had us at #2.

Do you get paid by the post to pump Les Miles and LSU?

Two choices. Which one do you want.

1. The reality of beating Bama on the 5th, winning the SEC and losing in the NC.

2. The hypothetical of losing to Bama on the fifth, not making the SEC Championship, but winning the Sugar Bowl.

Do you get paid to hate on miles and lsu because that is all you do? I'm not sure how anyone who claims to be associated with lsu and call themselves a fan could hate on their team, coach and program as much as you do.

If the shoe were on the other foot LSU would've ABSOLUTELY gotten the rematch. We were the top 2 teams. If LSU had lost to Bama it would've been to a #1 Bama, not to an unranked like OSU with ISU

All day, every day. Winning the SEC is a big deal, even if it doesn't feel that way right now.

Because in past years, the BCS has really screwed LSU.

You don't think 21-0 holds no bearing? Gotta give it to you for still being a homer

Spot on. As you said LSU's strength of schedule was way to strong. They had wins over 2 BCS conference champions away from home, ARK, FL and would have had a close loss to the #1 team away. BAMA needed serious help to get the rematch. Before Nov 5th the rematch talk had already begun and every ESPN expert agreed that the only team that had a shot at a rematch would be LSU. LSU would have dropped about the same as BAMA did after Nov 5th.

Because you're stupid. Of course I was being sarcastic. No team has benefited more from the BCS than LSU (Bama may now be tied with us).
