This is ridiculous. Those other sites suck arse for that exact reason. The old Tiger Lair site was exactly like that and thats why Tigerdroppings came along and took away most of their posters. Leave tigerdroppings alone

last recruit I remember getting particularly and directly bad-mouthed was Powe. I didn't care enough to obsess about it (save a link) but he commented that his feelings were pretty hurt by some of the things he read on Tiger message boards. Now he's tearing it up for Ole Miss of course
Certainly a lot of stuff regarding players on the team also gets said that is not demonstrably linked to their on the field performance (e.g. conditioning because someone likes bars, can't stay out of trouble)

No one here is bashing recruits. While this particular quote suggests that a recruit might care about what some fans might say about HIM, it does not suggest in any way that a recruit would change his committment because of what is said of OTHER people.
All this says is that a recruit cares about what fans say about him. That is certainly not the case here.
So recruits read message boards. So what? They hear all the same things through the recruiting process.
So we're saying that Wisconsin doesn't have real fans because they didn't want to take a chance with a shcolorship on a kid who may not be able to be academically eligible? What the hell is wrong with that? It might be a better decision to take another kid with the same talent who has a better chance of being eligible. It's all about if he has enough upside to offset the risk.
This is all bullshite. Some people just don't like to hear the truth.

As far as postings making recruits want to reject LSU, here are some other possibilities that lose recruits for us.
1) Love that clock management skill!!!
2) ESPN, FOX News, and other networks openly made fun of the Ole Miss fiasco.
3) How about that final drive against Penn State? Another great clock awarness gem.
4) "Hey Russel Sheppard, come to LSU and you can be a QB. I promise if we burn one year of eliginility, it will be worth it because you will play a lot!"
5) Educated catch phrases like "I have a want" and "We finished second in the ball game"
Postings are the least of our worries. The poor decisions of this staff cannot be blamed on fans.
