If you are trying to honor him, at least spell his name correctly. Tittle.

He perfected the "Alley-Opp" pass play. He had a WR with a great vertical, and YA would lay it up there where only his rec could get it. Great Tiger, Happy BD, and many more.
fwiw He was also a Texas boy who became a great Tiger. He set the table for Flynn, Lee, and soon to be Shep.

My Dad (a 1950 LSU alumnus) has a story about him. He said that some opposing defensive lineman was dogging him in a game, and Tittle told him to stop--or else. Dad said that the lineman came through and tried it again, to which Tittle threw the ball and hit the guy point blank in the face--that pretty much stopped it. I believe that Tittle was flagged, but he got his point across.
Perhaps Mr. Tittle or someone who knows of this can evaluate it and set us straight.
I believe that my Dad and Mr. Tittle were at LSU at the same time. My Dad was in HPER (Phys. Ed).

My Dad used to turn his test around so YA could copy the answers in Dr. Roberts’ biology class – yep, the same professor that some of us had for zoology in the 1960’s / 1970’s. Roberts once told YA to thank my Dad when he passed out the graded tests.
