Looks like the wrs have no experience getting good passing from that qb. Reminds me of jj

Malik was also clueless on a back shoulder throw he turned inside on. JD placed it perfectly except Malik went the wrong way.

See how that works?

Malik sitting on his arse watching the defender make that pick
Lacy clapping his hands after that 3rd down drop
Thomas running back to the sideline after his drop

Nabers reaction after the attempted back shoulder passes is exactly what you don’t want to see. Would he have wanted his teammates to do something similar when he muffed 2 punts last season.

Just like last year, the WR want Nuss. I’m not even making an opinion about the QB battle although there doesn’t seem to be one. It was noticeable when he came in vs UGA and everyone perked up and we made plays even though it was the back ups. Wide receivers want the ball and they want a catchable ball. Doesn’t excuse the lack of professionalism. There were still plays to be made with JD

Kind of like he did in the Ga game when Nuss was slinging to him. Amazing how he started catching big bombs when Nuss got in the game….

Exactly

Another thing is Nuss’s swagger, he just goes for it and the players respond. It’s about going on the attack and Nuss attacks the defense. JD takes what he can get. The team responds accordingly..

You have to respect lsu in the sense that we know we are better than anyone else and we can make the plays to win. Nuss understands that, JD does not. That’s why JD was the perfect QB last year but is not the guy to take the team forward. What’s a couple INTs if we put up 60? Everyone knows that is the potential with Nuss, but never would be with JD. We are in a classic Les miles situation where he knows he should change it, but doesn’t have the balls to do so

I saw it too. Can’t blame them. Watch the second half of sec championship. They know that THEIR QB, the one that DID and DOES throw it up and give them a chance is sitting on the sidelines. Demoralizing.

It’s a symptom of an overall conservative game plan. We had this with miles and it did it work. It won most games but didn’t take us to the next level. We have the athletes and players, have to turn them loose to realize our potential as a team

This is why the team lost all their energy. EVERYONE knows the coaches are handicapping the teams chances of winning by keeping Nuss on the sidelines. I know it’s hard to swallow pride and admit “I was wrong, my transfer QB just ain’t it”. But that’s the kind of tough decisions that HUGE paycheck is for.

He needs to make the change, or the fans and the team will turn on him.

You’re definitely speaking my language.

I just don’t see them moving away from JD just like miles didn’t move away from JJ. Nuss’s game opens it up to INTs and risk which the coaches clearly don’t want. The problem is the upside is worth it, but they don’t believe that.

Best believe the defense responds with a stop in a back and forth game vs when they’re getting ran over. It has a cascading effect on the team

Absolutely right. It doesn’t take a wealth of football IQ to understand these points. This is all about leadership and moral and brotherhood. When every snap runs through a pair of timid hands that are scared of every possible outcome, a group of competitors, a group of MEN is going to grow impatient quickly.

You get it. Hopefully BK does as well. My logic says surely he gets it, he’s been a leader for young men for decades. And this is all about leadership

That was also at a time when the majority of the teams played that conservative style.

Now a days you gotta play ball with some risk/reward mentality. Let the guys go out there and have fun!!

Here is the thing, a wr should not have to explain to a 5 year senior where to throw a ball. At this point JD should know.
