I hear you but there is much more risk in that sort of decision. Look at all the programs that have hired lesser known guys, often times it doesn't work out. Hiring a proven guy raises the floor generally but also can potentially lower the ceiling. It's not an easy job finding a winner in college football.

My choice would be that our AD wouldn't hire a coach with a 10-year contract for $10 million per year.
