Are you serious?

I do not care if we are playing Little Rock Central. As a fan, I have been waiting a long arse time to get the Sugar Bowl taste out of my mouth. I've been waiting like a mofo to sit in a packed Razorback Stadium and hear 74k fans call the hogs. I have been waiting to see what Ronnie Wingo and Dennis Johnson do at the RB position in place of Knile Davis. I've been waiting to see how NT Robert Thomas is going to plug the middle of the Dline.

No fricking way should a fan skip out on the season opener of his team if he is a real fan. It is the first game of the season, the first chance you get to see the 2011 version of your team against an opponent.

Who cares if they are playing Mizzou State. It is a damn fine reason to tailgate all day, get drunk, be merry, eat all types of unhealthy junk and then walk in to the stadium with 74-76k of your best friends.

I have been to 14 2 hour long Razorback practices this month, one of which was a full contact scrimmage which was probably more competitive than the Missouri State game will be. Missouri State has suspended their 1st string QB - they weren't any competition before that happened, and that certainly didn't help them.

LSU-Oregon and UGA-Boise will be much better games than AR-Missouri State. I love the Arkansas Razorbacks because I love the game of college football in general. Despite my obsession over the Razorbacks, it's not a "religion" to me like it is to some. I participate in and support Razorback athletics because I find it enjoyable, not because I feel like it is mandated because I was born in the state and call myself a "fan." Watching UGA-Boise and OR-LSU live on TV will be more enjoyable to me than watching Arkansas run circles around a cupcake.

In 2007 I skipped the LSU/Middle Tennessee game to go to the Alabama/Arkansas game at Alabama. It was a great game ending 41-38, while LSU beat MTSU 44-0.

I probably wouldn't skip it entirely, but I could easily see myself going out to the stadium to tailgate all day and then not go into the game to watch the other games at a tailgate. If it is anythinbg like an LSU game, there will be tons of people watching TVs outside the stadium during the game.

I see where you're coming from. Alot of the answers you're getting are from people that think they have to keep up some kind of mega lsu fanatic persona that they feel obligated to portray. Granted there are a few, and that is very few, people that wont miss an LSU game but they are in the minority. Hell look how the stadium now empties out after the second half during CONFERENCE games. Imagine what it'll be like during a cupcake ooc game.

What I'm getting at is that if it was LSU opening with Northwestern, and it was Bama/arky playing Oregon and Boise and uga on, then yes, I'd stay and watch those two over a walk in the park...95%of lsu fans would too. Whether they would admit it is another question.

that would probaly be a good thing. then you wouldn't have to sit beside some smelly arkansas people

I resent that statement. I wear Giorgio Armani and smell clean as hell, not to mention my Irish Spring deodorant.

Jon Ham, I guarantee that most of these people are just being arse clowns and would do the same thing. I know I'm not going to the Missouri State game. LSU/Oregon and Georgia/Boise games will be hella better and have relevance. Just enjoy all of those games at home, eating mf'n !

I'll be watching a "big time" game instead of LSU vs. Northwestern State/Western Kentucky

I know what you mean and some people would skip out on going to their teams game so they can watch the big game of the day, but the amount of excitement and fun going to a LSU game defeats watching any game on tv for me.

If I were coming from out of town very possible. If I didn't have people to carpool with, the games like NSU would be tough decisions due to $$$. I've got season tickets so my costs are roughly the same whether it's Bama or NSU. Plus you can really make someone's day by hooking them up with tickets even to a bad game.

I went to a Tulane-SMU game last year during LSU off week. I am not sure I will ever do that again as it was pretty nice to drive up 15 minutes before kickoff, buy cheap tickets and sit where you want, no restroom line, no concession line, no trouble leaving after the game. It was too tempting to quit paying tradition fees, RV parking spot fees, etc
