Yes if he doesn't miss those free throws, they take Game 1, it's a series at that point. They lost, morale left the building, series over. Hakeem was great to watch as well. Great bigs squaring off in the mid-90s

The Bulls would have won 6 straight if Jordan had not retired. That should answer your question.

Yes, but they would have had to fight like hell for it (not that they didn't already against the Knicks and Ewing)

Yep sure would've. That Bulls team had lots of problem with dominant big men. During their title run the Rockets always had their way with Jordan's Bulls.

I cant remember how many seasons was MJ out for? 1 and a half or 2 and a half? shite they may have won 7 or 8. It really is hard to imagine them not winning that many in a row. It was clear that Jackson was top notch considering what he did there and in LA. Jordan was still on top of his game when he retired from the bulls the second time, Pippen was still great, and all the role players were still good. Krause just fricked the whole thing up IMO.

He was out all of 94 and half of 95. He came back around March of 95, but it took a minute for him to get his legs under him.

96 they had the team that won 72 games I believe, but Shaq saw the handwriting on the wall for what was to be of the Eastern conference and went to LA ( for marketability and money as well), but still wouldn't beat Kemp and Payton, and he wouldn't have beaten those Jazz teams either. IF he had stayed in the East, his path would have had Jordan (nuff said) but not as many other championship caliber teams to beat.

And yes, Krause was responsible for the destruction of the Bulls.

Correct me if I am wrong but the Rockets won their titles in 94 and 95. The Rockets were 2-2 against the Bulls. Not exactly having their way. Especially if you consider this was without Jordan.

Also, from 92-99 they were 8-8 against the bulls.

If anything, you could argue they were evenly matched.

Bulls and Rockets a 'dream' series

quote:

It’s a view of many that the Bulls could have won eight straight titles if Michael Jordan hadn’t retired in 1993. Not Vernon Maxwell, and it would have been interesting to watch. The Rockets had a 20th anniversary title celebration last week, titles some said had asterisks because Jordan wasn’t playing. But in that era, no team played the Bulls tougher. The Rockets swept the Bulls in the Bulls’ 1991 and 1993 title seasons (Jordan played in all the games) and split with them in 1991-92. In Jordan’s nine seasons through 1992-93, the Bulls were 1-8 in Houston and 6-12 overall against the Rockets, Jordan’s poorest record against any NBA opponent. One reason was the erratic Maxwell, who played Jordan like no one else, often screaming in his face and challenging him to fights. At last week’s reunion, Maxwell told the Houston Chronicle he longed for a playoff with the Bulls: “I wanted to fight him. Michael Jordan saying we wouldn’t have won the championships the time he was out and tried to play baseball. I say just Google the times we played them. They couldn’t beat us. Like we couldn’t beat Seattle. If we could’ve beat Seattle, we’d have got a championship against Chicago because they couldn’t match up against us. I wish I could have got in a seven-game series. That would have been a dream to me. I loved playing against Michael. People back in my era didn’t want to play against Mike. He used to talk to me all the time during games. ‘Max, this is what the media wants to see. Let’s not do this. You don’t have to do this. Why you doing this?’ I know I got under his skin.”

We are discussing two points.

My stats are from 92-99 while yours are from 84-93.

The rockets won their titles from 94-95.

Plus, you own quote references the Rockets winning their titles when Jordan was off playing baseball.

I remember watching that and thinking will we ever see anything like that on that type of stage again. I'm still waiting for it.

LSU vs Wisky this year was close but probably only because it was so personal.

Yeah, but he came with half the season gone. Had the Bulls already completed their series against them? If not then, clearly he wasn't what he was the following season.

Jordan

94/95 Playoffs: 31.5ppg 48.4 fg% 6.5reb 4.5 ast 2.3 stl 1.4 blk

95/96 Playoffs: 30.7ppg 45.9 fg% 4.9reb 4.1 ast 1.8 stl 0.3 blk

Yes, he was clearly better in the 95/96 playoffs.

One resulted in a second round loss and the other resulted in a championship.

Just saying...

No way they probably would've lost in 5.
