They are literally doing it right now. Franklin just got $50 million. Napier just got $20 million.
Exactly, and that’s why I feel they will move away from it. These contracts were done before anyone understood NIL and recent changes with collectives and portal. You won’t see PSU and UF have the same contract structure for the next coach.

Indiana just signed Cignetti to an 8-year, $93 million dollar contract that’s fully guaranteed.
Ok, and Indiana is dumb for doing so. They extended him last year and just did this out of fear. Bad move by them.

Anyone that we would want to hire is already a multimillionaire. The only person willing to agree to these dumbass contract yall want are high school coaches or maybe a position coach somewhere.
If LSU is willing fire someone and pay them $50M+ to frick if, then the new coach is would absolutely demand a similar buyout. In fact, only a dumbass of a coach would take the job that yall want to offer
You're right, let's keep fricking ourselves up the a-hole with 50-100 million dollar buyouts for Dollar General-coaches who have us by the ball sack no matter how pathetic they perform. Good plan.

It's like some of you refuse to accept the fact that this is the market now.
Your other option is to hire some random coordinator and probably win 3 games.

9-3 should be good enough to never get fired, not good enough for that kind of money. But no coach needs to make 10 million a year either
Do we really want to be like Nebraska was in the 90’s and fire someone because of a 9-3 record?

These dumbass contracts need to be structured for results and what you produce

What? You’re missing the point. The massive buyouts are the market, Not denying that. What has changed in last few years is portal and nil collectives. Universities and collectives are still trying to figure out how to navigate this. That will change the market on massive buyouts. They will not continue to pay massive buyouts and $20m per yr rosters.

Lol, no
The option is giving more per year pay. If market for that coach is $9m per yr, they will do $10 and highly incentive based to push $13m per year. The buyout won’t be 90% of remaining but a set amount of $15-20m. Why? Bc the collective, who also pays his salary, will be funding $20m per year in NIL.
The market will shift.

Because we've already (tentatively) fired Brian Kelly, would this work?
This is wishful thinking
