Been to a few "never rains in Tiger stadium" monsoons. The one I remember was within the last few years when lightning was striking and they cleared the field of the players. This time we had no raingear because the chance was slight. Wasn't raining too bad, and the aisles were congested so we stayed in place. So, I mean how hard can it rain? At that moment, the sky darkens as if the Apocaplypse is upon us, and then the heavens opened up for a while.

I remember that the soles of my socks were soaked (we had to drain our shoes), the crotch of my underwear was soaked, and even the contents of my wallet were wet. Miserable, miserable experience.

Had to edit some damn typos!

i've never really thought about this, but

if there is rain, lightening, and thunder, will they force a rain delay because of the lightening like in soccer games?

i don't remember any game i've been to where it's been a torrential down pour and the game was forced into a rain delay because of lightening.

I stand corrected on Florence. I just remember going home the weekend of Florence, and thought it was that weekend. Florence did come thru in 1988, but it was in September...the hurricane that did the most damage was in November, the Miami Hurricanes.

The aforementioned Fresno game, a game against MSU a couple of years ago, it happens fairly frequently.

Oregan State 2004 was great - long delay - the guy who ran on the field.

I thought the Miami game was Miami Ohio - that was a terribel day

ULM 03 was my first game as a student. I loved it, especially how the fans were still cheering and going nuts throughout the downpour.

Rained for the first half, sun came out in the second half, so it was really hot and humid.

1. 88 Miami - The rain was coming down sideways. And it was cold.
2. (distant) 91 FSU - Rained buckets during the 1st second quarters.
3. 85 Kentucky Drizzled whole game, windy too.
4. 99 Florida - Rained whole game, but not too much.
T5. OSU 94/Fresno State - STORMED Pre-game. Not during the game.

Some of us were numb with anti-freeze.

I can think of two good rain games. Oregon State was pretty bad and Fresno State. Fresno State had a good delay.
