I was never really concerned about the Lyles situation or the McCarthy / Hicks situation hurting the team. But this thing with Shep concerns me. I know we have great young talent at receiver, but losing RS would reduce an already limited amount of experience at that position. Is anyone else concerned about this? I just hope this turns out to be nothing.

If we lost Shep it would do absolutely zero to our on the field play. However, the sanctions the NCAA would place on LSU would be crippling that is what you should be concerned about.

Sanction! For living with his girlfriend, who has been seeing him since highschool. No! They just need to inform the NCAA, acknowledge the correct payment agreement, and get it out in the open, in the offseason....Done!

Jesus Christ, people. This incident is a MINOR incident. Have you read nothing about the facts of the situation? All this rampant speculation and "what if's" only help keep it in ESPN's headlines.

Shep will be fine. Calm the frick down.

Here's whats curious...how does SHE get a job in the Athletic Department? This stinks. LSU knew they were dating since before Shep went to LSU and took care of the gf by giving her a job in the AD.

Yeah, thats true, but thats always the one thing thats hard to prove. Heck, I had a brother that when he was recruited, they hired his high school coach, and sign my other brother on a trainer's scholarship. That was a while ago, but that stuff happens. You sign one guy, this year, to get his brother, the next(and there's nothing anyone can do about it). Nothing! More worried about him paying his share of rent, which is what is being looked at, as far as benifits.

So what???

Unless she's getting paid some absurd amount of money that doesn't match the job she's doing, this is a non story.

And this isn't against the rules in any way. She's an LSU student and iirc was at LSU before Shepard was.

People are still making a big deal out of this? It's nothing. We could be on triple probation Alabama style and we would still see zero sanctions from this.

Shut up. Baseless speculation does no good especially when you are also knocking his girlfriend for no reason.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with giving her a job even if so.

Some people should not be aloud to speak. Losing any player that is a scholarship player is not a good thing. Regardless of how much you believe he contributes or not. Saying that losing him will not affect us is wrong and ignorant. Shep is a leader and people really admire him in that role. Also he is a kid that truly bleeds purple and gold. You have to have guys like that.

This is what im thinking also.If playing Shep means risking NCAA sanctions, I hope Les cuts him lose. But I really think the whole thing is getting way overblwn and Shep and LSU will be fine.
