I feel pretty sure it’s that Woodward is having trouble raising the funds for the buyout.
The thing is that’s a reflection on him being able to sell his vision and people with money making him own the checks he put LSU on the hook for.
I think they think if it flopped this bad this quick with such a big contract then maybe they should buy out not just mcmahons but also his.
Kelly also being a situation where he hasn’t flopped but we are married to for the foreseeable future with no way out if he continues mediocrity

Scott’s strategy of throwing money with a ton of years has to change in the NIL era, the money to buy your way out of it just isn’t there
MM’s pay isn’t insane but you gave him too many years because of the “fear of looming sanctions” (which was also bullshite if you buy into the narrative that Wade was fired to save football and lessen our basketball punishment)
Again I believe Scott wanted a guy that was loyal to him. A coach well liked enough that basically ousted an AD and president was a threat to him. Nothing that came out in that report was unknown to LSU, Scott used it to fire him with cause and bring in his guy and now we’re fricked
