I like Gio after the heart of the order as a lefty who can get on base. Arnold would be a fantastic 7 hole hitter with power behind him.

Morgan and Doughty can both lead off...there's no right or wrong answer here.

I get that. I think out of the three, it’s most likely Beloso that loses out and Drost/Dugas fit into LF/DH.

If you have that lineup, he's really just one off from having a leadoff 2 then 3 order starting at 5. Basically

Leadoff
2
3
Cleanup
Leadoff
2
3
Hole
Leadoff

It's sort of an oldschool approach when you have a few singles/leadoff style guys available.

At this point, I’d bat Dugas at 4 and move Beloso down in the order.

It's RF but Crews' future is there too and you're not moving him. Both have arms. Not sure who takes CF when Gio leaves. Maybe a new recruit but Project would have to chime in. He's on vacay though so y'all leave him alone.

I think Crews eventually ends up in Center

In college? Who do you put in RF that has a better arm?

I think he's capable but he won't be there in the pros. PM will keep a player like him where he projects.

Well Crews can also lead off but we don’t want that because his RBI potential is so high lower in the lineup. That’s the same way I feel about Doughty. I think Morgan is the clear cut leadoff hitter.

I really really want Gio in the 9 hole. I’m drooling over having Gio and Morgan on base with Crews and Doughty due up

He's going to throw out a runner at 1B at least once before he leaves school.

I value centerfield more than RF and I don’t see anyone on the current roster capable of playing CF at the level Crews can next year. Drost is supposed to have an above average arm I think he’ll be fine in RF.

That being said I haven’t taken a single peak into next years recruiting class so maybe the next CF is incoming

If he can play CF it’s more important than having his arm in right, and his draft stock would be that much higher.

Whether he can actually play there I’m not sure.

I wouldn't be opposed to Morgan leading off and Doughty sliding to the 2 hole.

One of the reasons I want Gio batting 9. You can bat Crews 2nd while still feeling secure that there will be a lot of opportunities for him to bat with 2 runners on base. Then you have another elite bat behind him in Doughty who can either drive Crews in or continue a big inning

I like the petition idea of trading coachw for HCB. Release the beast.

I don't see Drost getting it done against lefties this year. The scouting report is out on him. I'm not sure where you put him when Gio comes back. Not to mention we should be giving Hampton a look.

He may continue to hit at a level where it won’t matter, but yes, if he proves he can play a premium defensive position it would only help.

I would like Hampton to CF next year. I don't see any outfielders signed that are going to bounce what we already have on campus. Drost, Hampton and Crews in the outfield next year sounds deadly.

CF Gio (need his defense and leading him off his speed becomes a factor at top of lineup)
1B Morgan (stellar defense at 1B and his situational hitting should keep from hitting into double plays)
RF Crews
2B Doughty
LF Dugas
SS Arnold
DH Beloso (Drost can give him some competition and you can ride the hot bat - I'm still a little concerned about Drost being able to handle SEC pitching)
3B Thompson (at times Bianco could play 3B and maybe run into one every now and then)
C Milazzo (I would even considering starting Wyeth at times for more offense)

1. Hampton oF
2. Morgan inf
3. Crews oF
4. Doughty inf
5. Sanford oF
6. Arnold inf
7. Beloso dh
8. Thompson inf (other hitters?)
9. Find a catcher that can hit , move dugas to catcher, he did some of it in hs...he is better hitter than the present catcher
