First time in a while that we hired a new coordinator and the team he left didn't seem happy about losing.

This the biggest hire by Miles since he has been here. Hopefully this turns into a coach in waiting hire.

Love this hire!!!! Young and exciting. Leave cam on the sidelines and adding this guy is a win win for lsu. I am more confident that next year should be special. A 11-1 12-1 type team. Hell they may win the whole damn thing......

This solidifies our defensive staff and makes Auburn's move even more hilarious.

I've been feeling under the weather and spent most of my evening sleeping. Woke up to an insane number of text messages, pretty much insinuating that the world was ending. Figured it was about Dave Aranda to USC or LSU. No doubt it is.

Bittersweet for me.

I knew this day was coming. It was just a matter of when.

As if LSU wasn't already fully-equipped to crush Wisconsin...

Anyway, you guys are getting one hell of a coordinator.

No worry. It was going to happen. Wisconsin has always been very modest with its assistants salaries. Unless UW gets a former player on staff (i.e. Paul Chryst, Joe Rudolph, etc.), they will always be in danger of losing coaches with these modest salaries they're given.

In any case, I think the immediate replacement that comes to mind is Todd Orlando. He went to Wisconsin, played under Barry Alvarez, and is friends with both Chryst and Rudolph. I think it would be a solid hire and would give Wisconsin's head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator all with strong ties to the state and university.

There is no replacing a Dave Aranda, but this is the next best thing... in my opinion.

Thanks, but I hate the loss for a gentleman like you. However, I am ecstatic about the hire for LSU and its fans.

For once I think all Tiger fans are united behind this hire. I have not seen a single negative comment.

I've never understood this either. I get not paying a huge salary to an up and comer but if you get a young coordinators on the cheap and he turns out to be a great coach, why would you not reward him and try to keep him?
