Why would you thing that yelling profanities is fun? Unless you are so dumb and immature that the idea of flaunting your defiance of society's rules is "cool".

Yes, it looks and is most likely fun for them, but Wisconsin fans and students have a well-deserved reputation for being the absolute worst to visiting fans in the big ten. Visiting fans will have wisconsin fans walk up to you and say "LSU or Ohio State or Minnesota or Michigan State fricking sucks" to your face multiple times. You will get yelled at and swore at in the stands.
Ohio State fans have bad reputations but that's really toward one school, Michigan, where they will vandalize cars with Michigan stickers or license plates. But Wisconsin takes the cake as the absolute worst place for visiting fans. I know some people who have sworn to never go back to Wisconsin for games and the sad thing is that they in Wisconsin think it's funny that they are such jerks to fans. People who know better think it's cute and the administration there won't do much about it since they are the only big time state school and don't want to tick off the low-class fanbase.

I could give a shite about fan rep. its not fun if everyone is nice all the time. Hell the sec fans usually consider LSU fans the worst for being in your face. Im damn sure aint scarred of some acid taken yankee from wisconsin getting in someones face.

I'm not the moral police, just can't understand why anyone past 15 thinks its fun to yell profanities. Did you have fun yelling them at the principal last month? I'll bet you wrote some in your civics textbook, that showed all those mean grownups.

I went to Wisconsin undergrad, the football games were always fun. Wisconsin does have a band. And Jump Around was amazing to be a part of at Camp Randall. They have a few other great student section traditions that haven't been shown.
However, even UW doesn't hold a candle to LSU's tailgating. Big 10 tailgating is a joke. Northwestern was ok. But only this one little section of the parking lot would allow alcohol and students. UW only tailgated at the frats which were off campus and at house parties that are along the walk from campus to Camp Randall. Which was fun, but its not like LSU where the whole campus is the tailgating spot.
Both experiences are unique and pretty cool. Glad to see this post.

It's not acid, it's alcohol that they take. There's fun and there's ruining it and being bad hosts. Do you really want to go to a place and have people swear at you like that. There's no "Northern Hospitality" there. In fact as I said the adminstration over there won't do anything about it and the people over there laugh it off. It's not good ole smack talk, it's mean spirited. There's a reason why big ten fans won't go to games in Madison.

Yes, NU tailgating ain't much to write home about, but tailgating at other big ten schools is good. Penn State and Michigan State have the space for good tailgating. Iowa tailgating is ok. Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio State being in urban locations just don't have and won't make the room for tailgating.

Meh. They sound like abunch of 12 year olds who just found out they could get away with cussing.
The "frick You Tebow" thing was funny to me though, but it's not like the student section is constantly yelling curse words. That was also funny because Tebow taunted the student section and you could hear it clearly on national television.

And yankees wonder why Southerners believe (obviously correctly) that they are low bred, scum of the earth trash. I was in Wisconsin three hours ago and could not wait to leave that hell hole. The only problem is I am now in Chicago and it is even worse.

I never went to Columbus. So you can qualify my statement "Big 10 tailgating sucks."
All the places were fun, but its just not the spectacle it is, in my experience, as SEC campuses, especially LSU.
