Will LSU use #10 Sullivan more?

Great hands and he is 6'7...230lbs.
I think he will be a great target for Burrow.

He had one opportunity to use his size but couldn’t come up with it.
Hopefully they’ll go back to that kind of matchup in the future.

I don't see the point in using Sullivan or worse, Dillon at WR. Every snap you give those 2 you are depriving guys like Chase and Marshall who have potential to do something.

Had he made the move to TE possibly
Looks like Dee Anderson took his reps
He is a mismatch if used effectively
Jefferson and Chase were the two that stood out to me first game
I think Giles will get some targets early against SLU to get him going

I would imagine a jump ball pass in the red zone may be affective.

The defender put his hands right between Sullivan's hands and hit the ball as Sullivan did his best to reach over the defender to make the catch, which he ultimately caught off of his own leg out of bounds. Sullivan made a great attempt to make a play on a well covered, slightly under thrown ball.

Brutal post but I’d have to agree. Chase and Marshall appear to be more complete players in route running, receiving, and, most importantly, blocking.

They don't throw to him enough, but they really don't throw the ball a whole lot to begin with. This game was another example of that and it was supposed to change this season, hopefully it will starting against Southeastern. Put the ball up in the air and frickin use these talented WR's that are hungry for the ball like you said you would Ensminger. Brossette and Edwards-Helaire will run wild with teams defenses being off balance from all the passing.

I don't agree with that posters comment, Marshall and Chase are young WR's and will have a lot of time to prove themselves and make plays. Sullivan and others are underrated WR's that have talent that hasn't been brought out because of the lack of a passing game at LSU so for.

He came in and couldn’t bring one down when Burrow went right to him.

Dillion’s drop surprised me because he was pretty sure handed last year. I’m chalking some of those drops up to 1st game jitters.
Honestly it’s going to be tough to decide on which WR deserve the most reps. Jefferson definitely looked like the most comfortable guy out there on Sunday. Chase and Jefferson’s route running is just on another level compared to the rest. I was happy to see Dee make the most of his opportunity as well. Kid is a monster target now. He’s definitely grown a good bit since his freshman year.

My point with Dillon is he drops easy receptions. Likewise, Sullivan struggles to get open. With the level of talent and depth at WR these guys may see less playing time. Giles is going to start no matter what, you have to account for him on defense. Jefferson solidified his role in the Miami game, the guy does not quit on the ball and is a great blocker. Marshall and Chase both had some quality plays against Miami both blocking and receiving. Anderson even came in and made a big catch across the middle. Dillon has an issue with drops, he had the same problem last year and it happened again on a easy pitch and catch against Miami on a slant where he would still be running. Sullivan is big and had an opportunity to use his size on a perimeter fade but couldn’t come down with the ball. I think we will see Sullivan more because he can be incremental in the screen game and become a red zone threat but Dillon may have signed his bench warrant with his play against Miami.
My point is this, we have Giles, Jefferson, Chase, Marshall, Anderson, Sullivan, and Dillon at the WR position. All are quality players, you can’t play 7 WRs so the individuals who aren’t complete players will ride the pine or will be used situationally.

I feel Sullivan’s best chance is to either
A: pack on another 20 pounds and move to TE
Or
B: back on some more good weight and move over to outside linebacker
He’s not fast enough to get separation and sadly he doesn’t play like he’s 6’7. He has to win jump balls or his value is nullified.

Your point is well made and I agree with it somewhat, but really as I said already the passing game at LSU hasn't been much. These youngsters need to see the ball thrown at them regularly in order to become effective WR's, it's one thing throwing to them in practice and another thing in live games. You get a lot of practice catching the ball at practices, but nothing matches the atmosphere of live games and 100,000 crazy people screaming to the top of their lung capacity. As a former baller myself I know you get nervous as shite with the so called butterflies, and so catching the ball when you're feeling like that means the most when you're a player. You are catching the ball in a bigtime environment and so it conditions you to handle anything thrown at you, but LSU doesn't pass the ball enough and so it's hard for them to get into that kind of a catching rhythm. Hopefully, Ensminger will call a lot more passing plays and open it up against Southeastern, in order for Sullivan to get better at using his size he needs the ball thrown at him more, and same for Dillon with just catching the damn ball period. LOL Remember, some of LSU's best receivers started off with the drops, but became stars later on.

Did you even watch the game? Once the game was in hand, we tried to run the clock out. We were throwing early and often.

Did Giles ever get a catch?. Was the DB covering him that good?.
