Contrary to popular myth, they did call deep passes, it's just that those plays did not work.

And that rare downfield pass because they didn't do it enough, is poorly executed. Def the wrong QB in the game to thow it. First, the QB is not given enough time to execute(because of course terrible OLine blockin) which causes him to release it early. Second, if given time Beckham continues downfield pass the safety which would be an easy 6 points once he catches it and waltzes in the endzone.
In any manner, like I said. If you make the correct adjustments at halftime, one being inserting Lee for these type of pass plays, even the guy in your LINK agrees with this. You beat Bama downfield on these type of passes. But these pass plays were not called nearly enough because Miles continued to try to run the damn ball and throw that silly arse sideline pass.

see this is how I know some of you clowns don't know football, you don't need to be in the "locker room" or on the "sidelines" to see that Miles stubbornly continued to try to run the ball against a defense built to stop the run. If the correct adjustments were made, I think people would notice it.
That's ironic because I think it shows you don't know football. If you bothered to read the blog I linked, the first 2 plays LSU ran in the 2nd half were passes, one incomplete the next a 19 yd gain, a play on which TE D Peterson was WIDE open down the middle of the field. The players have to execute. LSU threw 17 passes and RB had 12 carries. Jefferson was credited for 14 carries, some of those are sacks since the NCAA counts that as a running play for some reason, who knows how many were called runs or passes that JJ just took off. Just because a play resulted in a run doesn't mean that's what was called.
The word has long been that to beat Saban's D, you need a mobile QB. The last 4 games they have lost were to USCe with Garcia, Auburn and Newton and to LSU twice with Jefferson making key plays in both. Again if you read the article I linked, the guy talked to Upshaw who noted they planned to keep JJ from running and Randle from getting deep.

wow double irony. The first 2 plays of the 2nd half were deep passes, one was incomplete, the other was the longest gain of the game. That's 2 deep passes right there. In a typical game LSU will run 55-65 plays, how many do you think should be deep passes? To complete deep passes, the QB has to have time to throw and the WR's need to be open.

No shite, Sherlock. There is no sense in arguing with you, man. You don't understand football or what I said in those paragraphs. Just because you threw the ball deep twice in the beginning of the half doesn't mean you give up and fold the damn tent. Besides, I said vertical passing, as in just completing passes downfield, not all of them has to be a deep ball.
I read what your link had to offer and clearly understands what it is sayin. Question is, do you?

There is a world of difference between not being prepared and preparing a game plan that doesn't work. LSU did the later.
Umm...either way is sucky coaching

He also says Lee wouldn't make a difference and that JJ should have started and before the 11/5 game that JJ would need to play. The 75 yd pass to Randle in 2010 was by Jefferson, so its not like he can't throw the ball.

Most say you need a mobile QB to beat Alabama. Besides LSU, the last 4 teams to beat Alabama : Florida (TT), Utah (Brian Johnson), USCe (Garcia) and Auburn (Newton) all can run.

If you count all of Jeffersons carries as called runs, which not all are, LSU ran 26 times and threw 17 passes. So its probably more like 20/20. As for sideline passes, neither you or I know what was called, but on most plays the QB has several options, he has to make reads and decide where to go, he has to take what the defense gives. If there is pressure and or, WR down field are covered, he might dump it off to the side. WE really don't know what was called.
But 1 thing I do know is that is very easy to just blame coaches and bad playing calling using 20/20 hindsight, rather than accept that a team just got beat and that just because the other coach is better, doesn't mean your coach is not an elite coach.

You mean all the 3 and outs had nothing to do with the amount of plays that were called? Shocking? And Jefferson did not carry as much as you are makin it out to be. This argument is useless. Just stop replying.
