IF and I stress IF JJ struggles LSU fans will want to put Shep in a position that he should not be in.
LSU fans as a whole do not want JL back in there, they would prefer Shep. I believe Shep would be more useful in a Harvin type role.
So LSU fans better be in church every sunday praying JJ performs to how some believe he will and that he stays healthy
pleae dont lump all LSU fans into this line of thinking...
I dont know anyone who thinks this other than the few that post this crap here.
Ive seen LM twice this summer talk about htis.. he grows tired of the RS hype and stupid question people ask, and always held JJ and JL as your two LSU qbs for 09.
What LSU fans need to be praying for is a prayer of thanks that we have 2 capelable qbs with game experience.
Not haveing to depend on young inexp qbs is a good thing... do you people learn anything?

I am just going to have to agree to disagree on

If JJ plays like Matt Flynn, which I have already seen him do
He is a young QB, who attempts to do things with his feet when he believes play has broken down. He will take many sacks this season, and he will throw some INT. Any fan who expects neither to happen is foolish.
As long as LSU establishes a running game and defense resonds to Chavis 10 wins is not out of question. I would love to see him have a season similar to JR 05 season as a 2nd year player.
And I'm going to have to agree to disagree as well.
Because even in his final year at LSU, Matt Flynn was still committing way too many turnovers for my liking.
But the bottom line is that he was the best option LSU had to play QB and because of that I was glad to have him in there.
Even if LSU hadn't won the National Championship, Flynn would still have had a successful overall career in my book.
Jordan Jefferson appears to possess many Flynn-like qualities, and then some.
We're talking about an inexperienced true freshman here who showed the confidence and poise of an experienced sophomore or junior.
Calm, cool, and collected with minimal turnovers.
That's all I can ask for.

I wouldn't say that he is MUCH better than herb right now. Not yet!!!!!!!
Agreed. Once he's led us to nine or ten wins (like HT did) we can revisit the debate.

Successful 1 season starting and if JJ throws 11 INT and gets sacked 20+ times along with 56% completition percentage he will not live up to these expectations.

JJ has all the tools and skills. AS long as he stays healthy and keeps making good choices, I see no reason why the sky isnt the limit.

read 2 pages ago, Toothpick mentioned JJ as all-sec/all-american.
many have predicted All-SEC for him.
Hell people are saying he is more talented than Pryor, Vince Young, Pat White, JR which no one knows because he hasnt played a full season.
what part of "handful" didnt you understand?.. one person doesn't equal the general consensus of the entire board

Used that example...
handful would include couple 100 on just this board... based on what I read every day on here JJ is going to be greatest QB in LSU history.
Just read this thread, the ones who believe he will be all-sec, all-american out number the ones who believe he will be merely a game manager, capable QB.

So are you saying you expect this to happen, don't expect this to happen, want it to happen?
Which is it?
I want JJ to be wildly successful and lead LSU to another BCS bowl win, SEC Championship, or National Championship.
JJ really hasn't given me any reason to think negatively yet.
I'm simply amazed that so many people here have chicken little syndrome when it comes to the subject of Jordan Jefferson.
Chicken Little:
"Yep, that ol' boy Jordan Jefferson is gonna fall flat on his face--just you watch."
Casual Observer:
"But aren't you an LSU fan?
Chicken Little:
"Hell yeah--I bleed purple and gold! But Jefferson is gonna suck and I'm gonna be there laughing and saying I told you so."

I think LSU's record will have a greater impact from defensive side of ball rather than offensive.
Like I stated in this thread, I would be happy if JJ gets
1800-2100 Yards
15-20 touchdowns
10-15 INT
20-30 sacks
I do not think that is chicken little syndrome, I think it is reasonable expectations of a players who has only played 4 good quarters of football.

JJ attempts to do things with his feet, meaning he takes sacks at a higher rate than a pocket QB. Look 9 in 3 games last year, if you do that over course of entire season that is over 30.
He is going to get sacked over 20 times next season, I am willing to lay a 100 dollar bet on it. Especially with LSU replacing 2 offensive lineman.

Yeah but that whooping Flynn and the Tigers put on Miami in that Chick-Fil-A/Peach bowl whatever--that was like a dream come true.
To me, game spoke volumes about Flynn's potential and what LSU fans had to look forward to. I was hyped.
Kind of like I am now about JJ coming of the Ga Tech game in that same bowl.

Kinda like I was with RP back at QB...
I still blame him for everything of last season
