Adjustment one: lock Robinson onto Duke Williams from the first snap to the last. Also give him a safety over the top. Robinson has already shown his worth in situations like this, having shut down mike Evans before. (Quille is better )

Adjustment two: play beckwith

I think it is reasonable to expect that chief will make both adjustments in order to give us the best chance to win. That's all I want to see. I want to see coaches giving the team the best chance to win by their personnel choices.

If R-Dawg Robinson is not locked up on Duke all game, I will flip my shite.

Like you said, there is no excuse not to. The coaches dont need to overthing this aspect of the gameplan.

Duke Williams

did anyone ever call him duke on the recruiting board?

We are all gonna be sick if quille makes plays and wins the game for them. We all knew it forthcoming though.

You do this, and their other 2 receivers will beat you, assuming Marshall has plenty of time to throw, which he should.
They have the best receiving corps in the country, IMO.

I disagree. A safety doesn't have to be playing him in man, just always have a safety over him. Safeties can cover more than one guy

Man... Duke is a stud. But Coates might be more physical of a player than Duke is.

What about putting Collins and RR on them 2, and having Tre White as the nickel this game? Because we will be in a lot of nickel and Tre White is solid in run support and can blitz. Tre White would be good in that nickel role just for this game... He's disruptive and a playmaker.

I'd have to imagine white would rock Marshall a few times if playing nickle.

Agreed....

The more I think of moving him inside to nickel for this week and letting Collins / RR match up with Coates / Quille, the more I like it.

And that keeps Mills playing at Safety. He doesnt have to come up and play nickel if White is doing it, which gives us more help over the top in pass coverage.

I don't expect to see a lot of nickel blitzing. Chavis plays contain and preaches staying in your gap against zone read. That's why he shuts it down. People are sleeping on him, last year wasn't an accident.

Yes.... and if White is at the nickel spot, Marshall would run his way a good bit.

I agree and we'll probably be in the mustang for the majority of this game. But I have to disagree with white at nickel. Let him and Robinson lock down the edges and let someone aggressive like Adams or Jefferson play the nickel.

If we want to win welter and Martin should sit the bench. Personally id put Adams at safety and Jefferson at nickel only because he's smaller and quicker similar to Thomas. Rotate Collins in every now and then and all we have to do is focus on the run

I like your analysis KG. Put the bigger corners on Williams and Coates and let White play the nickel. Jalen Collins has looked good so far and we know what RR can do. We do have to account for Bray as well, he does more than just leading the nation in punt returns.

Marshall is like Jennings as a passer, he is not bad on deep balls, but struggles with the medium and short passes. Clearly he is a better runner and faster than AJ.

We have to at least slow the run from Auburn with the front seven on D. If LSUs DBs get to caught up in Auburn's run game, they will go over the top.

I've been wrong before, but I think LSU will have to score above 30 points to win. If Harris plays well and they block a bit better this is very possible.

No, Chavis will lose the game for us, much like his defense has done in all of LSU's recent big losses. Its time for him to go.

Adjustment one:

The big adjustment should be made to take advantage of great cover corners to fix their biggest weakness against the spread. Use a single-high safety (Mills) and bring a physical safety into the box to help prevent big running read plays.

Adjustment two: play beckwith

Only stupidity prevents this from happening at this point.

I dont think we will be in a lot of mustang this week, considering Auburn is arguably the best rushing team in the nation. Its a spread formation, but runniing team. Which is why I think we will be in nickel way more than mustang.

And the only reason why I think playing White at nickel and allowing Collins / RR be the book end CBs is because of how they match up with Sammie Coates and Quille. Quille is 6'3 216lbs and Coates is 6'2 205lbs, but looks like hes 220lbs and is arguably the most physical WR in the nation. Hes a very very strong and physical WR, just google his name and watch how he plays. Hes a monster, along with Williams. I think Collins and RR match up with them better than White. And White could be huge for us in the nickel spot this week. Hes great against the run, aggressive, solid tackler, physical, and is a playmaker. I would rather have White in that nickel spot for this week just because its going to play a major role and see a lot of action.

I agree Welter should be on the bench. No doubt about that. But Jefferson doesnt look like hes taken that next step in his career yet. Thought he would have a bigger role for us this year, but he hasnt and it seems that Adams has jumped him at safety and think Paris is ahead of him in the nickel spot as well. I dont trust Jefferson out there yet, especially playing at the nickel back which is going to be huge for this game. And Adams is going to be great, Im very excited about him. But hes not there yet and Auburn is the type of offense that could give any young DB issues. Run, run, run, and get the DBs looking in the backfield and creeping up for the run, then hit them with the PA deep ball for a TD. Thats asking a lot for a true freshman to be ready for in his 1st start and on the road.

And this years Ronald Martin is not last years Martin. He was bad last year. But his dad died early on in the season then got hurt, tried to play on it, and hurt it eve worse. But hes very much improved this year and isnt asked to play that deep safety role due to having Mills back there and is playing more SS and near the box. Hes actually been a pretty solid player for us this year. Still made some mistakes this year, but everyone on our D has made mistakes except for maybe Kwon.

Agreed... and I think having a legit passing threat will keep the D from stacking the box, which will help our OL do better and create running lanes.

1. Play Beckwith over Welter for 90% of snaps.

2. Stack the box.

3. Rotate DTs.

4. Play Jamal Adams over Ronald Martin.

1+2+3+4 = UPSET IN THE PLAINS

I disagree with White at nickel, he's small but he's still our best corner, I say put him on Coates and either have Ricky Jefferson, Collins or Jamal Adams at nickel depending on who is getting the start at SS. I can only hope it's not 26 (forgot his name) he's terrible in coverage and is always taking poor angles
