bullshite. It’s exactly the same thing he’s doing, but in reverse.

Literally never heard that. And neither have you...you are going with a rant legend that has grown legs.

Really…a rant legend that has grown legs. Just what I like an ignoramus who thinks he knows it all, but is exactly wrong on both accounts.

One of the major puzzle pieces Tyler said he thinks is going unplayed with is freshman Lindsey Scott Jr.

… In Scott, Tyler said he sees qualities comparable to Clemson quarterback and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist Deshaun Watson. “He has the qualities that only few can possess, and that’s the qualities of relentlessness, leadership, understanding, and he’s just flat out electric,” Tyler said. “He has to get an opportunity. I’ll tell you right now: Including Danny Etling, including Brandon Harris, I think that kid has too much of an upside and that he can be really, truly be successful in the right kind of an offense to where he can be that Deshaun Watson type of cat.”

Your assertion insinuated it.

Who are these people? Name, link, or something. Every year "people" say this stuff. "People" told us Harris was much improved, Jefferson improved, etc.

A little common sense should tell us all Etling has the inside track.

I never suggested or said otherwise.

I think Etling is going to win the job and everyone else is playing for second. He earned the right to be No. 1 with his work as a starter last season.

I'd say he probably has a leg up, but Canada himself said it would be an open competition. So no Etling has not yet earned the right to be No.1 with his work as a starter last season.

But we've seen Etling play.

Not only will he allow it, it's essential that he does. It could potentially be demoralizing to anyone that loses the spot and cause them to feel like they don't have a shot at playing because of favorites and then maybe transferring. I still think Etling will ultimately win the spot, but it at least has to LOOK like a competition.

Whut? Those are musings of a future failure.
Gotta win that position every fall, not the end of last season, or the staff is surely suspect.

If Scott passes Etling, then he made some TREMENDOUS leaps from practice last season.

Emphasis on TREMENDOUS

Lol!! Not from what I've been told by staffers. And not from what I has told media.

I have major reservations about 5"10 Redshirt Freshmen Quarterbacks starting in The SEC.

I can see in the spirit of asking the question that this has the potential of turning into another JL and JJ situation.

Isn't it about talent? I think he's 5'11" (though 1" is irrelevant). Hasn't this been done in recent years? Blake Sims measured 5'11", and threw for 3000+ yds at *la*ama?

New system. New coach. NEW COACH. NEW COACH. That may be the only wild card. Hard for LSU fans to imagine running anything other than the stuff thats been seen. So hard to imagine who the QB might be given that fact.

Etling will start as he should. All the other QB's are complete unknowns.

Wouldn't surprise me to see a package for LS though

So if Etling starts that means he didn't have an open competition but if Scott starts that means he did?

You don't see the flaw in that logic?

He certainly will, all of the young guys will have a shot to beat out Etling, which honestly shouldn't be too hard.

you have never seen Scott play one down of college football and you ASSUME he's better than our present QB. I think I would much rather allow the professional coaches make the determination instead of some guy in Memphis that doesn't know shite.

Well many fans are going to want Etling to start, until he starts to remind them of Jarett Lee 2.0. Then they'll be begging for the backup to come in.
