re: Will Blackwell on Les Miles

All I know is what Blackwell and our TE have said so far at the senior bowl, it does not paint a good pic for Les. I know Les will learn from that debacle in the title game but I hope the heat ends soon.

Oh dear God. It is as plain as it can be.

It has been tough to get a hold of him.
You junior high cheerleaders nauseate me. There is no spin to it. MILES WILL NOT RETURN HIS CALLS. Blackwell feels slighted. Why? Because he said Miles chose the wrong QB.
Miles deserves all the heat he can get for abandoning the practiced plays (and players, FWIW) on 1/9

Why? There is photo evidence of Blackwell burying a Bama defender, then JJ flips it to the other team. It's not hard to understand that Bama had designed the 'mush rush' to limit the effectiveness of the line, and Miles failed to recognize it.
Miles deserves the entire blame for not altering what was clearly not working.
You don't blame the soldiers for not breaking the line at Pickett's charge. They did what they were told to do. Over and over again. It didn't work.

This is not plain at all. One sentence he says he hasn't tried to get in touch with him. Two sentences later he says he can't get in touch with him.
quote:
MILES WILL NOT RETURN HIS CALLS
Link? From the quote it sounds like WB hasn't tried to call him.

Clearly he has tried to get a hold of Miles. But being in Monroe, his phone calls were not being returned. If he was in BR, he could go see him. But he's not. So he has to wait on a returned call.
Not really that hard to understand
Quit making excuses.

Folks, face it. Miles isnt the good guy we all wanted him to be. Read each line carefully from Blackwell
quote:
It has been tough to get a hold of him.
Clearly he has been trying. So stop protecting Miles with "How do you know he called?"
quote:
I'm finished. He doesn't need me anymore."
Sounds if WB feels tossed out like yesterdays newspaper. Probably true based on his earlier comments
quote:
“Jarrett won nine games and we did very well in those nine games,” Blackwell said. “I feel like he throws the ball a little bit better than Jordan, but on the other hand Jordan runs it a little better than Jarrett. It’s kind of a pick your poison deal.
“Unfortunately tonight we picked the wrong one.”
Miles does not like to be questioned
It has been said on the Rant before, and in light of having no other explanation for the embarassing offense Miles ran, I firmly believe it to be true ...
As for this

It happens with every single senior football player in high school college and every retiring Pro. When its over its over. Its tough for some guys to grasp because a lot of their identity is built on being their schools star football player. Hell John Ed Bradley wrote a book about it. However its something blackwell is going to have to grasp. Its nothing personal but after the last down is played the HC has other people that he has to worry about.
If blackwell called les' cell phone and les hit the old ignore button thats one thing. However I doubt it happened that way. there are plenty of other scenarios that make just as much sense for him to make that comment.

Could it be he called the football ops building once or twice and Les has been flying around the country so he has no idea Will called?....No that couldnt have been it.

I missed that part of the quote.

I read the quote again and still didn't see that part.

At 4 mil a yr, you know Miles has PR people trolling on here to protect his rep. There is no way anyone can still be supporting what went occurred on 1/9 unless they are paid to do so
Also, nice reference to Picketts charge. Exactly the same situation. One side kept trying the same plan over and over to the complete devastation of its forces. The LSU offense was devasted. Look at the comments from Boone, Randle, RS, Lee, Blackwell, DP. I mean c'mon. Thats half the squad
BTW, when asked to assemble his division to protect the retreat. Pickett was quoted as saying "General, I have no division." Telling.

I'm still trying to figure out why you, Robbbobb and tlsugger are trying to make a huge deal out of this. It really seems pointless and borderline desperate because you are trying to find something to bash miles for. Not sure if you realize but yall are coming across pretty sad doing anything you can to jump through hula hoops and play mental gymnastics in order to analyze these quotes in a way that fits your agenda. I feel bad for yall.

OHNOZ!!!! AN EX O-LINEMAN CAN'T GET IN TOUCH WITH A COACH THATS BEEN OUT RECRUITING!!! ALL IS LOST!!! WE'RE SLIPPING INTO MEDIOCRITY!!! FIRE EVERYONE!!!!
its like some of you revel in this shite. like you enjoy every little negative thing that comes out about Miles or LSU and blow it WAAAAAAYYYY out of proportion. why is that?? i guarantee Blackwell would laugh his arse off at some of the posts in this thread.

Who is defending why happened? No one. We lost. Got blown out. It was terrible. Get over it. We still had a great season.
What people are doing is trying to find out what your objective is with all the incessant whining and bashing you and your ilk continue to do. It is becoming obsessive and pathetic. Showing the terrible side of this fan base.

I'm not making a big deal.
I also have no agenda.
I just find it funny and typical they same core posters that defended Jordan Jeff since he's been here are the exact bunch that are doing the same with les miles.
