GTFO. Did you watch the Arky game? HoneyBadger broke that shite open, not JJ.

First of all, I never said JJ won the games. I simply said those were our best offensive games of the year and JJ played the entire game.

But it really is so easy to tell when people just get ideas in their heads and repeat them as fact without knowing what they're talking about. So here's what you've blocked from your memory:

LSU and JJ had a rough first quarter against Arkansas for sure. Down 14-0 at the start of the 2nd. No turnovers for JJ, although Ford did have the fumble that was returned for a TD to start the 2nd.

But immediately after that, LSU went on a 14 play 77 yard TD drive to cut the lead to 14-7. THAT is what got LSU back on track.

Then the fired up D held them to a 3 and out, and THEN TM returned that punt for a TD tying the game.

TM then caused a fumble at midfield on the next drive, and JJ drove us down for a quick TD before the half to take the lead, with JJ throwing every play on the drive completing 4/5 passes, and LSU was off to the races, rolling up 500 yards on O and 41 points.

Those are the facts.

But even if TM had "broke that shite open", who gives a frick??? What game did Lee win in 2011 that wasn't dependent on huge momentum stealing plays from the D/STs??

Oregon, WVU, Florida, Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee were all highlight reels for our D/STs.

MAAAYBE Mississippi State, which I've always said was Lee's best game of the year, but the D did hold them to 6 freaking points on the road. And that was the only game all year that Lee threw for over 180 yards and we scored 19 points.

All the people who always talk about how much better the O was with Lee seem to forget that. He wasn't throwing much. He was efficient as hell with 14 TDs and 1 INT in 7 games as the starter before Bama, but we weren't fun and gun. JJ had thrown 6 TDs and 1 INT with 4 games as the starter, but had also run for almost 300 yards and 3 TDs.

As others have said, QB play didn't win any games for us in 2011. And bad QB play didn't lose 1/9 for us either. The only people that can't see that are just JJ or Miles haters.

JJ was so fricking terrible that game a fan literally died at half time in the stadium.

And yet, we won 42-10. And how many turnovers did JJ have in that game??

If someone died due to JJ's play, how many unfortunate souls perished because of Lee's performance in the GOTC???

3/7 24 yards 0 TD 2 INT

But yeah, Lee definitely would have saved the day!!!

Yes, this was a case of the result allowing Les to overlook the GIANT problem (lack of offensive production under JJ).

Why do people keep saying this??? The LSU "offensive production" didn't take some kinda of nose dive when the QB change was made. We were averaging 357 yds a game and 36 pts a game after Bama and we were averaging 38 pts and 375 yds a game after Ga.

Like whichever QB you want, but the LSU "offensive production" increased with the change.

I was I'm a class with Blackwell, a small class-10 or 12. It required orientation and conversation between us classmates and I can tell you that "Willy", as we called him, is a big dumb arse. He never came to class and couldn't communicate to save his. Everyone in the class thought he was a pussy as well because all he did was moan and groan

JJ is beyond reproach to some on here. It is ridiculous how any critique of him is attacked with veracity.

You keep saying this as if JJ had anything to do with it.

Are you seriously defending his performance in that game?

5/13 for 30 yards. 9.4 QBR (and yes, QBR is a useless ESPN stat, but it still shows juts how awful JJ was that game). Besides being able to run the option, he was pretty much useless outside of a couple freak games. Our offensive production for the most part was not because of him.

ETA: And I never claimed Lee would have saved the day on 1/9. But it was certainly worth a shot with the lack of offensive production that night. You really can't argue that.

Double Edit: I was never even comparing Lee to JJ. So thanks for going on that wild tangent.

i'm not a j.j. fan at all. however, lee still had concussion like symptoms from the game of century on 1/9. miles protected the kid.

if you think a change should have been made, then it should have been mett.

At the end of the day, i don't think it matters. We won the game of the century because of j.j. and his running ability. we went in with the same game plan that we had won every game with. why? no one had beat us with it. what change what has worked? (hindsight) it was a mistake. however, if we changed it and lost, everyone ask why? we won every game doing it this way.

if your believe something happened with the team that night, i think these comments are letting you know how will blackwell felt about performing that night. what is a shame is, miles made him an all american guard. If it was up toe Will, he would have been a no body defensive lineman.
