But, we lose alot again this year.

Do we?

First off, everyone can choose to come bac if they want but I will assume most dont and we lose Marshall, Ingram, and Deculus on offense. I think Shanahan and McMath both might stay. No reasoning other than I think they can both improve draft stock with more tape. And we lose Logan, Anthony, Cox, Stevens, and Harris on defense.

Thats only eight guys and I'd say that we could potentially be upgrading a few of those spots with replacements. Marshall and Ingram are the losses that hurt the worst.

On Offense, We still have a deep and talented WR corps without Marshall (Boutte, Moore, McMath, Gilbert, Jenkins, Palmer, JoJo Earle, Chris Hilton, Jack Bech). I think we should be able to get at least deculus level play out of Dumerville, wire , or whoever wins this spot ( Leigh?!?). Ingram is harder to replace and you just hope that one of Thomas, Bradford, or Hill can win this spot and be decent. RB room should be better since it'll be the same group and players tend to get better.

On Defense, the loss of Anthony doesn't matter much cuz he has already been beaten out by Oujulari. Logan has received praise from Coach O for 3+ years now and I am not sure I have ever seen him make a play. Plus I think between Farrell, Evans (could also play G or C), Roy, Guillory, and Maason Smith (I'll assume we land him) we will be fine at DT and probably upgraded over this season. At DE we will have the same players who should grow since both came into the year as raw inexperienced guys. plus we have a bunch of freshman coming in along with Phillip Webb. I think this spot looks like it should improve and if we land Foreman, it'll be a strength. LB is a troublesome area. We lose Cox and are left with Clark (I think Pelini broke him), Baskerville, Sampah, and White as returners and we have Greg Penn III and Raejon Davis coming in. I think best case scenario is that White steps up as the sideline to sideline guy and baskerville plays steady at the other LB spot while Davis, Penn, and Sampah get some experience too. At CB I think we are better cuz we have 3rd year Stingley and Ricks will be experienced and stronger. You also hope that Flott gets a little better too. At safety I think we have a huge upgrade with Sage Ryan over Stevens and probably at the very least a push between Todd Harris and Derrick Davis Jr. You also hope the either Toles or Hampton takes a step forward.

Now I realize I am doing a lot of hoping and positive projection in this post but I feel like its more likely that most of these things happen than they don't. The two spots I really worry about is the OL and the LBers.

TL;DR version: we have a lot of young guys with a lot of potential and we won't lose many guys we can't replace.

I think you're on point. I agree with pretty much all you said. We'll have a good mix of vets and young talent. A full off season and I expect LSU to be back in the SECCG mix.

the offense will be fine. I just hope the defense can make a huge leap and become a force instead of terrible unit it is right now.

It will be better but in all likelihood not that much better. I really believe last year was a one trick pony show. It is what it is.
