Why will it be better next year

Just a question? I understand the schedule will be easier and give us 3 more wins. But, we lose alot again this year. At least 2 d lineman, 2 linebackers. Etc... why will the defense be better? I think 8 and 4 next year would be a major accomplishment. I do not see it any better.

Just people blindly hoping O is not the next gene chizik

That’s not necessarily true. Everyone has an extra year to come back, so the guys you’re thinking are leaving don’t have to. Keeping most of the team mixed with an unbroken offseason would do wonders for this team.

Who on this team is ready to go pro besides Marshall and Stingley? No eligibility used this year will bring back some players who normally would be gone.

Well for starters there's nowhere to go but up

I highly doubt it could get any worse

The 2019 and 2020 classes are better than the 2018 and what’s left of the 2017 classes.
The 2020 class having a spring camp and a year at the school will be huge.
Our DL from 2017 and 2018 are as follows
Farrell 3*
Cherry 4*
Jenkins 3*
Fonua 3*
Evan’s 3*
Thats not gonna get it done outside the sun belt.
Cherry was a BOLB type that we tried to bulk up into a DL for some reason. Idk I think We fricked that kids career.

Stingley has another year before he is draft eligible

He was pro-ready as a true freshman. Like Ja’Marr Chase was pro-ready as a sophomore. Just because they’re ready doesn’t mean they can leave.

9 win seasons:
O: 3
Chizik: 1
People act like Chizik just had 1 bad yea. He went 8-5, 14-0, 8-5, 3-9. He was never good.

I have confidence in Brennan and the offense to a degree although I think Linehan should kick rocks.
If Pelini is still out DC I have zero faith in next year or any other season with O for that matter.

Technically everyone "can" come back since there is no eligibility lost, but most likely Marshall is gone along with Stevens, Deculus, Ingram and a couple more. A full offseason to work out the kinks with Pelini's D. Like it or not he's here in 2021.
Defensively I like a 2nd year with Roy, Guillory and BJ as our starters. We are in a very good position right now to land Maason Smith and the #1 HS player DE Korey Foreman. They will be instant impact players. Sampah and White will have a full offseason to get stronger and acclimated to the D. Ricks and Stingley back. #1 and #2 safeties are commited. Raesjon Davis 5 star ILB committed and helping recruit more players.
Offensively we have 3 QBs that are capable of running the O. Gilbert is a stud. Boutte will be a breakout player in 2021. Emery and TDP are more than capable. The OL will again be a re-shuffle, but we do have talent on the roster if Cregg can coach them up.
The biggest difference will be going from a team with very few returning starters and some young, raw talent to a veteran team with a lot of incoming impact talent. It won't be 2019 by a long shot, but 2021 will be a lot better than 2020.

Incoming talent pipeline. Last two recruiting classes and an experienced QB... more than one.
2022 even better.
Btw everyone gets another year of eligibility. So who knows who leaves.
LB Josh White and Sampra. Will be ready. olijari. Ready... WR corps ready.. another reload of Safeties and DBs.
What is wrong with you

It will be better this year because it could not be any worse this year.

Impossible. It will be better. This whole season and year is an abortion.

I hope we beat Arkansas and pick up another win after that, But I think reality is we will be happy with 4 wins this year. We are not beating Florida or Bama, if we get to play them. Next year, well see but I think we are a 8 and 4 , 7 and 5 football team at best. The seat will get real hot, and then 2022 is 100% the future of "Coach O". If he doesn't mess up more between now and then!

8-4 or 7-5 for LSU in 2021 is just not acceptable. LSU should go 4-0 in its non-conference games. UCLA is not very good. That means LSU would go 3-5 or 4-4 in the SEC. That is crazy. Expecting LSU to go 6-2 in the SEC is not unreasonable. That is why I think O has to go 10-2 next year.
