Why we'll win in the Swamp with J Lee

4 things I noticed about Lee vs UT
1. He didn't stretch his neck around and shrug his shoulders (like in Spring Game & last year)
2. He didn't take deep breaths
3. He didn't put his hands on his hips
4. He was cool and collected
2 years ago things fell apart for J Lee in the UF game at the Swamp. It was a night game and he was out of his league. THAT EXPERIENCE will make the difference in this game.
LSU 24 UF 17

If Lee starts and if he plays well and if we win, it will be coincidental and fitting that the potential resurrection of his career and our program will occur at the scene where everything started to fall apart for both two years ago.

He did throw off his back foot quite a bit though.
Florida's secondary could very well eat that up.

I hope he doesnt try to loft one up to the middle of the field like he did against UT. that was the most horrible pass i have ever seen. keep it simple JLee!!

yeah, he's much better at quick outs. he has a pretty decent trigger (compared to the catapult that is jefferson's wind up)

C'mon now. We're looking for a positive vibe here - why we'll win w/JL. It's O.K. to ignore a fact or two when pulling for the Tigers. Plus, the back-foot thing will be corrected this week in film review.

I'd have to say I feel somewhat better seeing J Lee's improvement. I hope it continues.

I don't think we score 24 on Florida.
And I don't think they score 17 on us.

Will fans ask for TC McCarntey, Barrett Bailey, or JJ if Lee sucks it up on Saturday?

While Lee looked considerably better, he is good for at least one pick a game.
That said, the offense just opens up so much more when he is in the game. The play calling is considerably different. But, sans penalties and turnovers, I loved how the offense moved the ball vs Tenn. I wouldn't mind a situational 2 QB package...rather than the every other drive change QB system that we saw.

I'm a Lee supporter here, but I think you gotta give both QB's a shot. Whoever gets the hot hand, go with them. Don't yank someone after they've done good either...like last week.
Lee is as ready as he's ever going to be though.

I would be preparing for a lot of blitzes this weekend. UF is going to try to get Lee flustered. They have very good DB's and are going to try to force Lee to make bad decisions. LSU needs to practice blitz pick ups and the screen pass & quick slant to beat it.

We get 7 from Special Teams and 3 off of a turnover for 10. The other 14 comes from J Lee on final drive and perhaps Shep, Deangelo and/or Ridley earlier in the game.

These three don't have a damn thing to do with whether or not a guy can play quarterback. In fact, I would argue that #2 is necessary at times to calm one's self down. It's a very common exercise. In golf, you're told to take a deep breath before a big putt to calm your nerves.
Given how long it takes for CG to call plays and get them to the field, I'm surprised he doesn't have callouses on his hips from his hands being there in frustration.
I agree with #4 though. He seemed calm, cool and collected, even after penalties and plays that didn't go well.

In general you are correct but I disagree when it comes to Lee. He developed those habits b/c he was trying to calm/soothe himself.
The fact that they're gone means he's comfortable with himself and ready to perform. We'll see on Sat.

This just is not going to happen for Jefferson.

Are you fricking serious????? What does this shite have to do with anything???

He was ice cold on that final drive to win the game. He drove down the field, and even after a damn DELAY OF GAME ON 4TH DOWN he was calm, collected, and was ready for the next play.
The composure I saw sat on the replay (hard to see at the game) will boost the entire offenses morale come sat, just watch.
