I know here at LSU as I'm sure is the case at any NCAA baseball game if there is a lightening strike within 7 miles of the stadium the teams are removed from the field. A hand held device usually carried by the field manager will detect a lightening strike within the 7 mile radius. The teams can only return 30 minutes after the last strike within the 7 mile radius.

I was at the game and a guy behind me was tracking the storm in the 2nd inning on his phone. He said it was in Austin and flying our way very fast. . In the 5th inning he took his family and left saying there was a bunch of lighting and hail reported and headed right for College. Station. I thought be was nuts. The next inning they asked everyone to retreat to their cars for safety. The storm then slowed down a bit and hit later then expected. I was pissed but once it hit I understood.
