I don't hate Miles. I hope Miles is successful. I just don't have a lot of faith. I would rather LSU be successful under Miles than be forced to find a new coach. I was very frustrated with the offense last year, however and am so far this year. I don't see any movement to change a thing.
The primary (in fact maybe only) goal is to have LSU succeed and win multiple games/titles/championships. I am not against change, but having seen how it is handled in the real world of CFB, I am a bit skeptical if we will get the savior that folks are preparing for.
I don't have faith in the AD/board/TAF/Band/waterboy to make the right hire ala Florida.
This is precisely why I hope that Miles is really successful at LSU. He has shown great recruiting skills and coupled with better coaching we are constantly knocking at Title games.
Given our two championships/sec titles etc... with consecutive coaches within such a short time ,I fear that the school would have such an inflated sense of self that the hire would be made with the thinking that he will bring in another championship as well (regardless of pay etc...) and that leads to even worse results.
Schools like ND,Miami,Nebraska who can claim the throne as much as anyone else haven't had great luck with coaches (i.e. someone who can win them their next title).
Face it -
Great coaches (championship team builders on a consistent basis) are impossible to find - it has to fall in your lap!
Good coaches (who can show constant and consistent results over a period of time) are rare.
Average coaches are the norm.
We can't ensure the Great coach but we should make sure we get a good coach who can possibly make that step and if we let go of Les (who with his results has shown himself to be clearly in the good category) only to get a Callahan or Willingham or Shannon - we will push our title hopes back even further.

This phrase is the most ignorant fricking thing ever invented on the rant.
Mediocrity is subjective. Your individual expectation of success will indicate what is medoicre and what is not. A program that pays a coach 4 million and has the one of the highest annual recruiting classes will have much higher expectations, and a higher level of acceptance of mediocrity.

Do you really not understand the difference between where the level the program was at when Saban got here vs when Miles started? Saban built the program.
Ummm...
Saban inherited a pretty good team.

The reason most hate Miles stems from his first home game. He came out with a Britney Spears' headset and couldn't hear shite. He's asking where his wife is. He goes up 21-0. He tries to call a timeout after an interception to stop the clock before halftime. He fist pumps to the crowd and holds up a #1 while running in at halftime. He then promptly shits the bed and loses in OT to a former LSU QB that wasn't good enough to play here.
Ever since that game, he sealed his fate with most LSU fans. Then in 2007, he drops a game to fricking unranked Kentucky. He is blessed with a 2nd shot and promptly shits the bed again, losing to unranked Arkansas on senior day. Then 90 some odd things go perfect to get LSU into the title game. If those things don't go JUST RIGHT and Miles doesn't back his way into that game, EVERYONE here would want Miles gone.

You're missing the point. If im "accepting mediocrity" by supporting Miles, than i'd like one of the these superfrickingfans to post their daily schedule of how they are preventing the LSU football program from slipping back to the 90's. If not than they can STFU and stop questioning my fanhood because i choose to support the coach

You do realize that this applies to any and all coaches including Saban, Stoops and Meyer. Lots of things have to go right for any team to go to win Titles.
In 2003 we were praying for results from a stupid hawaii game to aid us in the BCS - a wrong point here or there and we are not in the BCSCG.
You can definitely point out to losing to Arkansas because those are individual games and coaches have a lot to answer for that.
But that happens to any and all coaches- including Saban who lost to fricking UAB and what hurt more was IOWA because he was planning the furniture for his fricking house in miami.
The other stuff about headphones / talking style/ is all just stupid fan stuff because now, they have an internet forum with a way to shout out their half-baked ideas and thoughts.

What did Saban walk into when he arrived?
Well...
2000, his first season:
Total Offense: 4th in the SEC.
Passing Offense: 3rd in the SEC.
Rushing Offense: 9th "
Pass Eff.: 2nd "
Total Defense: 9th "
Pass Defense: 9th "
Rushing Defense: 8th "
Yeah, Saban inherited a real shittay LSU team.
Some obvious weaknesses on Defense, but not as if they were horrible.
Dispel the myths, you fricking Saban sycophants.

Didn't say those were my feelings. I've just been here a long time. Everything I posted about that UT game was talked about THE ENTIRE FIRST YEAR Miles was here. I don't agree, just giving a recap of what happened here after that UT game.

Pretty sure Saban didn't have to hope and pray for any games to go any certain way last year. Going undefeated helps. Then again, he needed a blocked field goal against UT to win.

Saban now has 4 SEC titles and 2 Natl Champ. And he's done that while beating Miles and LSU.
4? You sure?

Isn't it 3? 2001, 2003, 2009...when else did he win the SEC?

The team that Saban inherited also had 11 players that made it to the NFL.
But I guess those cocky assholes who were shitting on the OP have disappeared, like cockroaches fleeing from the kitchen light.
