instead of throwing 50 line passes to Beckham over and over

Especially since Beckham dropped all of them.

what does throwing line passes vs Northwestern prove? I know you think everything Les does is perfect but he has always been horrible at getting younger backups quality snaps in these types of games. Those plays could have been used to get Landry some experience/confidence so we don't have to go into another big game relying on Kadron Boone as the 3rd or 4th WR option.

He held the ball in his left arm, exposed to the tacklers. I guess he was pumped to be making his first big play and didn't think about it.

Landry is a little behind, mainly due to that fracture in his foot, but he's catching on, and will be worked in more. Don't worry, he's a stud, too. Looked good on that return, I was like "who is that".

Correct, I've seen both many times in HS. JL was slowed by the injury and other issues. They may both end up catching passes on Sundays.

Did I not just watch a game where the backup QB and a lot of other backups played just about the entire 2nd half?

Why yes he is.

Heard Landry was practicing at the "Punter" position.
So that would explain everything.

But but but Landry was a five star!!!!!! He has to be better!!!! Beckham was only a 4 star, obviously Landry is in miles' proverbial doghouse.

As far as pure receiving talent I'd say that they were and are almost completely equal. Both run great routes, great hands, and good speed.

JL seemed a little slow to me though. I wonder if he's not full speed yet. In case you forgot about Landry..

I've said it a few times.. if Jarvis Landry wasn't in Louisiana in the same class as ODB.. ODB would have been a 5*

Was that implied?

Old man needs some extra fish. I'm ok with that.
Dandy Don hates you too Max

FWIW I wanted to see some more Landry catches too.
I think Landry is the next big time player LSU has if he can stay out of trouble.

I know they are both good, but at this point 33 needs touches over 80 because 33 is going to be counted on more vs msu and he needs to develop now. Who gives a shite who's gonna be the 4 or 5th wr? Our 4 and 5 wrs catch maybe 10 or 15 balls a season.

Both are studs. But let's not forget Landry missed nearly a month of drills. He's still behind Odell in terms of experience and knowledge, but certainly not in terms of talent. The two both have enormous potential. Besides, Odell played a TON in scrimmages, often with the 2s, so he and JL and ZM have a lot more chemistry right now than, say, Boone and Shep probably.

I think its similar to Blue and Spencer Ware from last season. Early on, Spence got injured and missed a few weeks, so Blue got the 2nd/3rd team reps. Spence latter got back into the mix and won the 2nd string job. Both are very solid players with bright futures.

I asked Demetrius Byrd this, he said that he thinks Beckham has the best hands out of the recievers. Said he catches everything in practice.. ttfwiw

I guess Miles & the rest of the coaching staff feel otherwise...I trust their judgement...

OBJ is ahead of JL... JL was hurt recently. Those are a couple of things we know.

Here is something you might not know. We are freaking so loaded at WR it isn't even funny.

RR, starts anywhere.
Boone, Wright, Fobbs, Williams are good enough to represent LSU well if they were the only WR we had.
OBJ and Landry are going to be studs that play at the next level.

We are loaded!

I was very impressed with all of our WR's last night. I was watching 86,81 etc run routes and block last night when the ball didn't go there way. Away from the ball I was impressed with their fakes and blocking.
