Canada was able to get 2 guys drafted to the NFL. Both of those quarterbacks threw for 20 plus touchdowns in each of the last 3 seasons. We expected him to do the same with Danny. Only throwing two picks in a season is great, but 14 tds in a 12 game season for a 5th senior isn't good enough and I don't think that it's Canada's fault.

Canada did a good job with Etling, he's not even close to NFL caliber. Canada clearly does a good job of preparing his QB's for his offense. From what I've seen, he doesn't use the middle of the field nearly enough. He likes to either use the flats or deep routes. Most of the intermediate routes went to the outside of the field from what I can remember. He does a damn good job of teaching when to throw and when to take a sack which leads to high efficiency numbers for his QB's. I'd love to look deeper into how often he threw to different areas of the field and how successful he was but that takes way too much time for something thats just a hobby for me. I know he said he change the offense to the strength of his players but his numbers show he loves to run the ball regardless of who the QB is.

Now compare those numbers to LSU in the same years. He’s better than what we’ve been running.
