Everyone was bad at Oakland.

Improved their record from Fulmer's final season.

No one who follows college football, except the media and over-inflated egos at USC, believed they would be able to withstand the sanctions the NCAA hammered them with.

He has never in his life proven he can sustain any kind of success as a head coach.

He really hasn't had much of an opportunity to sustain any kind of success given the circumstances of each situation.

I see everything you posted. it still doesnt prove he is a good coach. He has been a failure at every stop. That's not a good coach.

he may be now but he hasn't proves it in my opinion anyway.

but hey it's subjective.i respect your opinion.

which I why I can't label him a good coach if he hasn't ever sustained any level of success.he might get there but hasn't yet IMO. I think he might be th best playcaller in cfb and is clearly a damn good offensive coach.

I'm not saying he's the next Paul Brown or LSU should ever even consider him. Maybe his baggage isn't worth the results he's churned out. I'm mostly playing devil's advocate to the notion that he couldn't hack it at LSU if given the chance.

I lived just outside of Knoxville during Kiffin's time there and it was one of the worst managed programs I've ever seen. If he had stayed much longer, UT would of been swinging from the NCAA gallows. I hope for his sake he has matured and gotten wiser.

Totally fair.

I guess I figured you'd be a little more receptive to the idea of Kiffin as a good coach, considering who we have in charge now.

I think he could be successful I just wouldn't label it a homerun given the lack of sustained success in his career. He would definitely be an upgrade over O.
