My beef is why can Julio and Barkley play and Randle can't?
Some people come out of high school more prepared physically and mentally. Some are forced to to sit because of players in front of them.

developing freshman early
This is almost an oxymoron. When freshman come in they are basically the same player they were in high school. It would be difficult to "develop" any freshman early unless they were already ready to play immediately, then that's still not development.
Now if they start playing well later in their freshman yr or beginning of sophomore year, then you see how their college coaches have developed them. Does this make sense?

Neither of them had a ton of talent ahead of them like Randle has. Randle is still learning and he will have to work hard to earn his position. Why is that so hard to understand?

It isn't hard to understand, as it happens all the time, but i can't imagine the offense being that much more complicated than high school. Randle played both qb and wr, so he knows a lot more than most to begin with.
Also, have seen him out there quite a bit, but just not being thrown the ball. I don't think they are doing double teams on Randle, but most likely Lafall and Tolliver.

What I mean't by rueben learning 3 plays is this.
1. Rueben was a QB in high school right. He would be great player to use when running the reverse and pass to Lafell.
2. He would be great to use with the wide receiver screen because he can juke also and the shut down corners will be on Lafell or Tolliver.
3. Short route as in maybe the redzone. He got hops. He is a threat in redzone.

In HS randle mostly played QB so he pretty much ran something like this. Snap the ball to randle and run veer left, veer right, or make your own running play b/c you are a better athlete than most hs players and can get away with a busted play. When he played receiver a qb came in and it pretty much went like this. Find reuben and get him the ball because he is better than most hs athletes. It does not work like that when you get to LSU. There is a lot more strategy that goes into it and when you make a mistake in college it shows up alot more than it does in HS football. In HS if you have speed and can juke you can get away from most defenders. In the SEC almost everyone can do this. Give the guy a year and he will probably be a great receiver at LSU. IF Les does not think he is ready so be it we have all the receiver we need right now.

He has been playing, just not had any balls thrown his way. I agree with the sentiment though. Problem with LSU is we have too many horses and just one ball. LaFell, Tolliver, Keiland, CS, RS, RR all need the rock more.

This thread made me die a little on the inside. We truly have some idiot fans around here. Why would you put someone on the field that didn't know their assignment? Maybe he's not getting thrown to because he's not where he's spose to be. And yes, rj is better then rr right now and if you can't understand why then just shoot yourself.

Josh Downs thinks you are a moron.

You are right, he was in several plays against Vandy, late in the game. For the uninformed, LSU is in the process of developing a just turned 19 quarterback. Two quality opponents, one 2,000 miles away on a very hostile field and the other in a driving rain at home. The down field passing game is a work in progress. What does that have to do with RR? Give it a few more games and we will hopefully see an improvement in our passing offense which will benefit the entire receiving corpse. While Jordan J. has been efficient, he has not set the world on fire with a lot of yardage. If not for the yards after the catch, his numbers would be dismal.

Even if we had an experienced QB, even if RR knew the playbook, if a 4 year senior is playing well the frosh will not get reps in practice. Forget about playing time. #28 has sweated his butt off for 4 years. Been in the system. Worked hard. RR will not see the time of day.

We have a number of WRs who have put in their dues over the years and have earned a chance to play.
Jumping Randle ahead of these players is not right. Randle will get his chance, but not before he is ready.

This is the correct answer. IF a senior is even close to the freshmen in talent level and smarts the freshmen will never jump him and righfully so.

Like I said, I am not a coach, but just thought he could see some bubble screens, etc. Guess not.
