To answer the question, Sumlin would likely not accept an OC position. He would go back to a smaller school and be the HC. His "offense" isn't so much his. He has very very limited play calling experience.

We had an agreement in principle with him, but we reneged and kept Les. Oh well.
We then fired Les and reopened talks with Jimbo again. Jimbo was rightfully still pissed and demanded a ridiculous $7mill a year. We walked away.

Jimbo had a horrible year at FSU and was in danger of losing his job. Along came aTm to scoop up big daddy LSU sloppy seconds (see Chief) and gave him $7.5mill.

Now Jimbo and LSU would have been a good match based upon LSU’s talent base. He should have said $5mill.

TAMU talent base means Jimbo will end up as a mediocre coach with a guaranteed $75mill. But $75mill and a FSU natty ain’t bad!
