Where exactly did Miles announce JJ as the starter?

The Les Miles Show

He also said last night that Steven Ridley's success was due to the threat of JJ as QB. I nearly threw my beer at my radio when I heard that bullshite.

Because of the parasite that is controlling CLM and has affected his sense of time. CLM thinks its 2 years ago.

I turned it off when I heard that. Shameful, Miles is shameful.

i dont really care who starts this week , if we continue to see JL out playing JJ then certainly he would need to be the starter. i think JL has known his time would come and that makes it easy for him to be patient. i can easily see JL as a good QB and a clear leader next season , of course ZM could throw a wrench in there

JJ will start but Lee will play a LOT. What don't you guys get about this and why are you always fixated on who Les Miles will say he will "start" when we know it doesn't mean anything?

I did too, that was the stupidest thing I think I have ever heard him say. It was also a huge insult to Ridley. Steven Ridley would have twice the yardage if we had a decent passing game.

They figured if they said it maybe miles would think that he said it and just go with it.

But with that logic he'd already be in Michigan and lsu would love herbstreit

It's true - so far. They have to cover JJ, they don't have to cover JL, and JL hasn't shown he can consistantly complete deep balls to pull the safties back.

Think about it, with as little PT as Lee has gotten, and however horrible you think JJ is, how in the world can LSU be leading the league in rushing and have the #15 rated RB nationally?

I don't buy it either but there was an interesting thread on this yesterday comparing ridley's yards w/ lee in the game vs JJ. miles keeps talking about forcing the defense to defend the entire width of the field as well as the length; w/ MF and RP miles had a qb that could do both he doesn't have that w/ JJ/JL.

maybe Ridley is that good, the oline is really run blocking well and stampley is playing well at fullback

All three are infinity more probable than JJ as the reason for Ridley's success.

I don't have a problem with who 'starts'. Both QB's bring something different to the table, so both should play mostly because neither is a world beater

This too often repeated mantra absolutely kills me.

Aside from ONE SINGLE PLAY against Tennessee, JJ has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to deserve any future playing. time.

Please, somebody, give me one logical reason why, if we are using a 2 QB system, we should use JJ rather than the NUMBER ONE dual threat qb recruit from last year. Really, just 1 good reason.

inaccurate. sample size is low, the number of run play calls to pass play calls is not equal either.

Come back when we have a better sample set. I'll happily run the statistical analysis, post results assumptions and models.

+1. I never even considered him a running QB.
Maybe I missed something. What are his running yards, minus the 83 yard play?

Why does that matter?

While JJ was in the game:

Ridley - 10 carries for 86 yards

While Lee was in the game:

Ridley - 12 carries for 37 yards
