He definitely should have gotten a mulligan. Bama was clearly one of the two best teams in the nation, and that is the one, and only, criteria for playing in the BCS Championship. All the talk of not winning their conference, etc. is loser talk. The same LSU losers who spout that nonsense proudly claim the two BCS championships LSU won via mulligans of our own.

Yeah, I remember in 2003 and 2007 when we got to play a team who beat us in the regular season in Baton Rouge again in the national championship.

I don't agree, cause at least in those years, we won the conference, not that this is a requirement, but I just have a problem with winning a national title, but not winning your conference. Just like I had an issue with Oklahoma being in the ship in 04 and not USC.

I am not one of these people that say Bama didn't deserve the natty. This is the system and they won the game. I just don't like the fact that the network that is showing the game allowed Saban to come on to their network and proclaim his reason for being in the game. But that would only happen to a few teams, i.e. Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas, USC, Nebraska-teams that have a history of success. I am sure I left a bunch out. You get the point.

Doesn't matter, loser. You're trying to construct a narrow definition to suit your purposes. The criteria is: the two best teams in the country. In 2003 a one loss LSU team was one of the two best; in 2007 a two loss LSU team was one of the two best. Both years LSU proved to be the very best. In 2011, unfortunately, Alabama proved to be the best. One who finishes second lost; one who whines about the unfairness of a fair contest is a loser - that would be you.

You're probably right about that. But it's clear why those programs get that leeway; they've earned it by winning championships. All we have to do is win a half dozen national championships over the next twenty years and then sit back and listen to everyone complain about us.

I don't give a golden shite about Alabama being promoted to #2 in this BCS system last year.

I'm alluding to your asinine statement of LSU getting "mulligans" in order to play in the MNC in 2003 and 2007. That proves you either don't know the definition of, or are using "mulligan" incorrectly.

And yet, Skip's ego caused him to let $horty go without trying to keep him?

Everyone was exhausted with dealing with all of his quirks, demands and constant squeezing for more money. Bama is going to feel it too, once Texas decides to make the change (and the window is closing).

We won the conference and did not play anyone to whom we had already lost in 2003 or 2007. While you may argue for your definition, it is certainly also arguable that Bama received consideration to be placed in the game that was beyond the pale of what had been done before - their best game and best argument for being in the game was their loss to us.

Let LSU fans try to make that argument (or really, anybody, except perhaps Bama, USC, Notre Dame or Texas) and they'll be laughing as they walk away.

Every year he was at LSU he gauged interest from at least 1 NFL team, and up to 3 or 4. He would take these advances and ask for a more generous offer - for himself. In all fairness, he pushed for better salaries for the assistants, especially the coordinators.

Miles has eclipsed him in the area of assistant pay, but not unreasonably pushed up his own compensation - at least 1 extension was for a lengthier term, but none-to-nominal increase in rate of pay.
