LSU's pursuit of Ohio State transferring quarterback Joe Burrow took another stride on Wednesday: Burrow plans to visit the Baton Rouge campus this weekend, a source confirmed to The Advocate.

This raises a rather large question: Why?

quote:

Schools must request and obtain permission to speak with athletes at other programs as to avoid the NCAA's tampering bylaws. The athlete’s existing school has the right to deny him from transferring or speaking with any school — an NCAA bylaw that might actually be changed soon.

quote:

Why does any coach court a transfer? They believe he’s better than their current players. They believe he’ll add depth or they believe he will, at least eventually, replace their current players.

Let’s break down those three things as it relates to Burrow and LSU’s quarterback competition.

Joe Burrow plans to visit Baton Rouge this weekend; why is LSU pursuing a transfer quarterback?

Why don't you tell us Ree?

I'm very interested to hear your spin on this subject.

Tiger Ree if LSU signs Burrow- "O is an expert recruiter. He saw a need at QB and went out and got the best of the best."

Tiger Ree if Burrow does not sign- "O decided he didn't want him. He was garbage anyway and McMillian will lead LSU to the promised land."

Oh... And TigerRee, auto down vote.

Apparently, the team could really use him.

Why?

Because LSU has shown basically no ability to develop a QB for the last 10 years, so we need transfers who were already groomed by someone more capable?

Outsourcing QB coaching/development.

By golly, it just might work.

I know O isn't pursing this kid for depth that's for sure. I like it though, go get the best player to help the team win and don't worry about hurting feelings.

The fact that LSU doesnt develop QBs is true.

That he brought it up is extremely whiny. And you know it, schit-4-brains!

Mine too.

And I thought we were hearing, going into and coming out of the spring game from all these pumpers, that Myles Brennan and Lowell Narcisse were the second comings of Bert Jones and JaMarcus Russell.

The pumpers sure shite-canned our incumbent quarterbacks in a hurry.
