Some of you guys are ridiculous!

It's the first game of the freaking season - LSU was on the big stage - they did what they had to do to win the game and they were successful.

To say LSU hasn't shown they have the propensity to sustain drives is a little premature don't you think?

We couldnt even drive it that far, i think our longest "drive" was 30 yards. No one is saying we scored to quickly and if they are that is idiotic. We had more possessions that the ones we had the big plays on. There were ample opportunities to move the ball in the first half and we didnt do it. All we are saying is that..we are not complaining about the big plays or saying we scored to quickly. Just that the big plays seem to have masked the problems we had moving the ball in the first half as well, which is understandable

I am dumb because we couldn't sustain drives? Look, LSU wasn't nearly as bad as people want to believe on Saturday, nor were we as good as people want to believe in our high points.

This team will improve this season as it goes along and be a pretty good team, but people are acting like we were amazing in the first half and did it against a top 25 team. Newsflash, while UNC's backups aren't chopped liver, they aren't a top 25 team without those starters that were missing.

That said, I think the coaching in the 4th quarter alone was pitiful especially the defensive coaching. Giving up the long TD was one thing, but to allow UNC to drive down the field twice without any resistance with dink and dunks was embarrassing.

People giving up on the season already are idiots, but getting too high just like getting too low from the ups and down of that game is ridiculous.

LSU's drives:
1) 3 and out, missed FG
2) 8 plays, 30 yards, TD! Great!
3) 3 and out 2 yards, Punt
4) 6 plays, 19 yards, Punt
5) 1 play, 50 yards, TD
6) 3 plays 17 yards, FUMBLE
7) 1 Play, 87 yard punt return TD
8) 1 Play, 51 yards, TD
9) 4 Plays, 18 yards, INT

That was LSU's first half. Out of 8 real drives, 2 lasted more than 4 plays! 2.

Scoring quick is great. Don't get me wrong, but we had half our drives be 4 plays or less with either a punt, fumble, or INT. A fifth was 6 plays (1 first down) and a punt.

LSU has to become more consistent. This was the Arky 2008 and UT 2005 games all over again.

this is a very good point. we had some great returns and started with great field position through most of the game. it is hard to have long drives when you start with around 50/60 yards to go.

im not saying i dont see a lot of inconsistency, they do seem to have trouble grinding it away like we did in 07, but at the same time that year definitely spoiled us. we were so damn good at that it was ridiculous.

also another thing to take in, we knew before the game started that we wouldnt really learn much from a depleted team because there were so many wildcards that its difficult to judge. after a few more games our strengths and weaknesses will be more apparent

spin it? Our main problems last year were that EVERY SINGLE play it seemed the clock was running down and jefferson was confused and we were burning to's and getting delays etc.....on top of that we were taking a lot of sackes. To say we were not much improved in both of the areas is..well...lying.

If that is the case, will people ignore that 54 minutes > 6 minutes?

23 of our 30 points came in less than a 6 minute span and the team did jack shite outside of the second drive with the rest of the game.

It's consistency that people are striving for from the Tigers.

Again, people can say it was only the 4th quarter that was a problem, but we only looked AMAZING for 6 actually minutes of game time. The rest was average to bad.

Improved in those areas? We still gave up a sack, another basic sack (the 20+ yard grounding call) and even worse a stupid INT because JJ just threw it up.

Clock management was not improved as seen at the end of the first half.

The playcalls getting in was though. You are correct.

Overall, the team showed some improvement, but some regression as well. It's one game, but coaching issues still seem to exist and OL is still a big ? despite some improved play.
