You’re right, and it’s impossible to do better than the #1 RB in the nation. Also the injury to John Emery, took what likely would have been our #1 RB out of contention
I like Emery and he’s shown flashes here and there, but without the injury I highly doubt he’s RB1 or even close to that, and honestly he’s probably on a different team right now

Kaleb Jackson? That dude would be a beast in “I” formation of old. 245lb FB in front of that dude. Woah. He’s about as featured as you can get. Caden Durham? I don’t know what you’re taking about.

He was a no show vs Bama. Fournette did not meet my expectations.
You're the idiot, im sorry to say.

Rbs are asked to do more in the modern game than 10 years ago. To be a featured back, you can't just be a stud at running the ball. You must also be the best in pass protection and have hands out of the backfield. It is rare for a team as this level who has 1 back who is the best at all 3 of those items. Usually there will be a back who is great for short yardage, a back who is better outside, and a back who can block and understands protections that can catch out of the backfield.
Combine that with Louisiana not producing a generational back like Fournette in the past 5 years

Several factors: a perfect storm of a shift to more wide open offense, injuries and off field/academic issues has made last 3-5 years a down time for RBs. I think KJ turns that around this year.
