Its not, its just the beginning of another football season. You can make it seem like every season is special if you want to. The media does it every year.

This is false. What you do makes up who you are. So, last season did happen, it was and is a part of LSU football, end of story.

Come on. The poster was alluding to the motivation that we might and should have after last season. Especially the defense with a new Coordinator. If Chavis is better, which I think we all agree, you can add in the human nature component that all the defensive players who want to play will be busting it to impress the new staff. Yes, literally, last year was LSU football history... but the point is, it damn well better be a motivation this year.

Where are you coming up with Les Miles being on the chopping block? Les has a long ways to go before people start talking this kind of foolishness. Where is your proof of this?

It seems that this team has a lot to prove.

They do. Last year was such a disappointment going 7-5 in the regular season. The team just gave up. The 1st 3 quarters of the Troy game was as bad as I've ever witnessed against a lesser opponent. We could have very easily went 5-7 last year. I think this season is "special" because of the kind of year that we had last year verses the kind of years we have become accustomed to. The next 16 days will be grueling for me.

this season is about redemption and being able to compete, but with new assistants. Just ready to see our defense working again

i think because the new defensive coordinator...new defensive scheme (last years pansy defense). many options on the offensive side of the ball at many positions. a possible chip on their shoulder because of last season. alot of people feel like this is a litmus test for les miles.....can he help his team bounce back and prove all the "sabanists" wrong.

I think it's very, very unlikely that the 2007 season will ever be topped.

Everyone wants to see what this team is going to do to put last year's nightmare to rest. I don't know if that's what makes this season special, but it's the mojo people are craving as Sept. 5 approaches.

I could care less if LSU went 0-12 or 14-0, there will be a memorable play this year and I will be in stadium to see it.

Could have been 5-7 last year, a couple better plays could have been 9-3. With RP, our experienced QB, might have been 10-2 maybe 11-1.
This year the QB play should be better, special? yes IMO.
