Is Etling not allowed to audible out there? There were quite a few times you could see the all out blitz and he is just swallowed up. Yes I understand that LSU’s qb situation is alot diffrent than any NFL team, but guys like Brees and other qb’s make blitzes look easy to defend bc they get rid of the ball so fast with a slant or quick pass to the flat. Youd think that with all the speed we have at WR and RB we woukd do this. Is there something Im missing other than Etling is limited in his ability as a qb?

Serious question, have we run a slant all year?

Seems like he only runs set plays. They're not letting him audible.

Don't know if that's part of Canada's system or they just don't trust Etling.

If this is the case thats just dumb. You are basically conceding lost yardage and your qb getting smoked in blitz situations.

If you do a quick pass of some sort, it keeps the defense honest. From what we saw last night, they were putting 9 guys in the box Just bc they could.

Etling doesn't have the touch.

Threw a short pass so hard to a TE last night, the attempted catch looked like an act of self-defence.

we completed one to chark on third and short last night. It's ok if you get drunk during the games but don't criticize the team for things you can't remember

None of the QBs can audible in this offense. Very few college QBs can.

Danny Etling has terrible field vision and rarely checks it down when he should. Brennan is so much better in this aspect but he doesn't have it all figured out yet.

He missed Guice wide open in the flat on the same damn play he missed in the Auburn game. Danielson pointed it out. There wasn’t a Bama defender within 20 yards of Guice and he threw it downfield to Chark in coverage. Like the previous poster says he does not see the field, locks onto his first option most of the time and is probably incapable of calling a successful audible.

Frankly with his tendency to lock in on receivers, him calling audibles would probably be disastrous. A competent defensive coordinator would figure him out relatively quickly and turn him over.

He just doesn't make good pre-snap reads and doesn't read keys once the ball is in his hands. His decision making is much better than QBs we've had in the past but he still is below average.

I get tht you dont want a qb to have free reign to audible at any fime but when he see’s a blatantly obvious blitz, you need to be able to do something different.
